Galento would have said he'd have beaten Lennox Lewis as well.

And while a few beers deep I claimed I'd knockout David Price, they are about as likely to happen. I do remember this match being kicked around. When asked I believe Lewis said "if he's superman I'm kryptonite".

All hot air from Roy, which was to be expected. Of course he was going to say he'd beat him. But as the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words. Jones was publicly floating the idea of a Heavyweight fight as far back as 1997, but he knew the score, hence why he was initially talking about going after old man, back-from-retirement Douglas and a then-suspended, badly faded Tyson. He had years to talk about fighting Lewis if he wanted to - miraculously, only when Lewis was suddenly looking ragged against Vitali and talking about retirement due to waning motivation, did Jones start mentioning the possibility. And even then, in 2003-04, we all know it was for the cameras. Jones wasn't stupid.

Not that I hold any of that against him. The guy was really just a natural Super-Middle by modern standards and beating a guy like Ruiz is still a good achievement under those circumstances. But we all know that even a slightly podgy and unfocused Lewis in 2003-04 would have wiped the floor with Roy. Then he'd have cleaned around the back of the toilets with Roy. Then he'd have blown his nose on Roy. Then he'd have screwed Roy up in to a little ball and would have thrown Roy away in to the nearest bin.

He wouldn't get in the ring with Corrie Sanders, and yet he could beat Lennox lol.

Model/formula for bouncing ball off a hard surface (i,e. canvas)

"The coefficient of restitution is a parameter of a ball/surface, and reflects the fraction of velocity just after the bounce divided by the velocity just before. For a golf ball, this can be as high as 0.8; for a tennis ball it is around 0.75. "

roy cherry picked the least of the heavy title holders at the time. and while he did fight one hell of a fight and won, ruiz really was not a danger. still impressive, but NOT lewis!

I agree with you wholeheartedly but I do remember Manny Steward saying that Lennox would have to take Roy very seriously and that he could be a threat.
