Jones added that he would not be seeking a rematch with Hopkins, who he beat for the vacant IBF middleweight title in 1993, if he upsets the odds and defeats Calzaghe.
Jones said: "Bernard Hopkins has constantly been talking about fighting me for the last five years and nothing's been done about it, but it's not my fault, he doesn't want to fight me.
"Where was Hopkins when I was 25 and I had my game stepped up? Fighting nobodies and he couldn't draw flies to a poo-poo cake. "So I don't have time to waste on Bernard Hopkins. I already beat him, so what do I want to fight him again for?"

So Jones should not say like in the Prince Badi Ajamu post-fight interview in Science that he WOULD ( but won't) fight anybody and that that includes Bernard Hopkins. You can't say that you don't want to fight somebody and that this proves that that particular person is afraid of you. Bernard said himself in that famous live interview on HBO ( 60/40 purse and I kick your ass) that Roy really doesn't want to fight no more...

Roy understands that a rematch with BHop probablly means another 'L' on his record.

Bernard Hopkins said on a interview to Setanta,

"Roy is a all time legend and was the only one who he believes Really beat him"

Nard also said he wants to fight JC, yet a week or two earlier said he didn't want to fight JC again... Maybe he watched the fight again, who knows, but I wouldn't take anything a boxer says seriously. Hopkins could have fought Jones years ago, Jones was the man and only wanted 60/40, this seems more than fair, so again, who really wanted to fight who? End of the day I've no idea, all I know is this is a fight I'd love to see even if both are considered old, shot, past it etc etc these guys are from my viewing era of boxing and I'll be sad when they eventually hang them up.

Just to make it as clear as possible - 1 Bernard said in the first Taylor post-fight interview that he knew he had lost in the Jones fight, 2 - Hopkins commented after that live interview and with his Team live on HBO that Roy really didn't want to take that fight. I personally think Hopkins should look for Chad because no one is going to and that should be more of a important win than beating Roy or avenging the Calzaghe or the Taylor losses.

IT SEEMS like Chad is going to have to fight Tarver again due to a rematch clause. That's a fight I'd like to see too (Dawson-Hopkins).

It looks like Hopkins will be left out in the cold AGAIN in terms of big money fights unless it's him against Jermain again.

IF he pulls off the upset and beats Calzaghe, it shows he isn't shot and would probably beat Bernard, who is more beatable than Joe.

If he loses to Calzaghe, who would want to watch him fight Bernard ?
