Roy won the fight. It was close but clear.

The thing i find funny is that the entire HBO crew thought Roy had won but in the rematch had all changed their opinions to Tarver winning. Talk about being swayed by public opinion

So weight drained..What Bull ****.....coming down from a bulked up 193 pounds about the weight that Archie Moore was when fighting Heavy weights when he was Lt. Heavy champ.
Moore made the weight weighed in at 12 fought at 9....were was weight drained old Moore. And Moore was Old....not a young guy like Jones.

Moore didn't weigh in three full days before the fight....weight drained my ass. Three full days of modern medical rehydration and carbohydrate packing and he's supposed to be weight drained?
You bought a lie as far as I can see...but then again I use to watch Moore fight heavies and defend his Lt. Heavy title and then go hunt up some big money in the heavy divsion.

All this modern neutrition everyone brags about and poor old Jones Can't get from his normal walking around weight back 190 down to fight Tavar...could not fighting for a full year...dodging Tua and Vitilie have anything to do with it?

Right after winning his belt Tavar wanted DM's belt, called him out DM who Immediatly said yes....one day or two max....Jones developed a Bad Blood Blister with some one he ignored since they were 12.....More money in a Jones fight.
And Jones had to run back down to Lt. Heavy, Vitilie was his manditory.

"What's your excuse this time Roy?" That was one hell of a good saying before the second fight.

I don't think Tavar gave poor Roy all the Air breaks he was use to getting, which is why he ended up on the ropes all the time...

By the way Buddy McGirt and McCallum were doing body punching way before Catto...but that is before your time...but with in the range of any one who was 25 who had watched a few fights before Tavar and Jones.

jones was 200 lbs and had 6% body fat after the ruiz fight. he maintained that weight because there were negotiations for a heavyweight fight. he almost passed out at the first tarver weigh-in. vitali wasn't his mandatory, it was ruiz again who he'd just beat.

Archie Moore burned off excess fat, Roy Jones had to burn off muscle, there's a HUGE difference.

He 'maintained his weight' He weighed in at bulked up 192/3 three days before the Ruiz fight right?

So where is your info from and when was it 'said'.
In all the years of hearing poor jones was weight drained, I never heard what you said before...and there were 1,000 weight drained excuses.

If Jones told me the sun was shining I'd take an umbrella, and a northwester.

He was always going to fight a live body and never did...jerov amount others...so I take Jone's statments with a box of salt. Had in his contract that HBO not mention DM's name...at any time.

With all the modern medicine he can't do what Moore did all the time?

Moore chewed real rare steak and spit out the pulp...was his trick.

Believe what you want....it was not fighting for a year made a real big difference.

And he was just making his advertizing money....in Lennox was not going to give him the majority of the purse....first $25 mill is mine, the rest you can have Lennox.

the only fight he wanted was Lennox....He forced his number 1 Tua and number 2 Rahman to fight for being his challanger...a tie....let him ignore him. That made Vitilie #1....
Dodged him too, by running down to Lt. Heavy.

One more time...he made the weight three full days before the fight....he with modern medicine had three days to rehydrate, carbohydrate pack, eat big fat meals.

There is no such thing as a weight drained excuse in the modern three day before the fight weigh in.

He did not weigh in at 12 and fight at 9...there you could say...he was weight drained.

When you burn off the last thing the body burns off is fat...muscle burns off first....law of nature.

You have in mind the old heavy Moore of Clay in 1960 not Moore of 1953-54-55, when he was beating the real single line active contenders standing between him and the Rock. Then going down to defend.

Ive only watched this fight once the night fo the fight, ad I had Tarver winning. I thought Tarvers less but more effective activity beat Jones more constant but less effective activity.

Had this been amateurs maybe Jones wins it on activity.

Either way, Jones came out busted up and like a man who had just lost, and Tarver ended up getting his sweet revenge.

Mackie weighed Jones before the weigh in on his scales. He was 200. Theres a video on youtube of Jones and his crew confused with the weight.

Even the guy who weighed Jones said the weight wasn't balanced and just wanted to get each guy on and off as quickly as possible.

Jones also got on a 3rd scale on video showing him to be 199

at the 3 min mark you'll see the weigh-in and jones disagreed with it. he weighed 199 day of the fight, the video shows that as well. jones weighed in for tarver the day before the fight, not three days. not sure why you're arguing that point. the heavys sometimes weigh-in two days before their fights. the jones-tarver bout was at light heavy.

I had Tarver winning, the ring side fans didnt like the out come and this was a house packed with Pro Jones supporters. Again I favor the aggressor and you cant say Tarver wasnt effective, the fight was close no doubt, But Tarver did have enough rounds won to ******t a win

Ya Jones was 199/200 pounds for the fight. If he weighed 199 the day of the fight but only weighed 193 at the weigh in...how does that even make sense? Heavyweights DON'T have to cut weight, especially Jones who's moving up in weight.

    Scorecard?

We all know Tarver lost the last two rounds.

And I know for a fact Tarver threw a grand total of 6/7 power punches from rounds 3-5. Roy won other rounds as well. So to even think Tarver won is dumb.

check the vid above at 3 min. the scale was off at the weigh-in because norman stone and alton merkerson got into a scuffle. the vid doesn't show the fight but it shows jones weighing himself after the weigh-in.
