I had it a draw after 12 rds............. Jones was limp as an old farts dick in Nov. 2003..... The weight loss killed him in the ring against a stronger, yet cautious Tarver baby.... Jones only got the nod cuz he was the HBO house fighter, while Tarver was thought to be a good under-achiever... No biggie, come May 2004, Tarver got the last laugh.... "You Got Any Excuses Tonight, Roy." CLASSIC!! Tarver KO 2 Jones...... The 2005 rubber match sucked balls.... ZZZZ!!

No it doesn't but it doesn't mean the judges were wrong either.

You gave Tarver 3 rounds where all he did was flurry once, land one punch.

You gave him a round based on 10-15 seconds of work. The other 2:45 seconds was Jones controlling everything.

Look, **** it............ 193 or 199 pounds----It was an issue............. Jones was all muscle against Ruiz in March 2003....... In any case, he had to burn off muscle tissue for Tarver baby; not flab........ Burning off muscle will weaken a man more so than useless flab / fat.............. Jones was dead at 175 in Nov. 2003.........

NOW! By May 2004, no excuse, Roy got owned by Tony..... WORD!

Plus Jones was still above 200lbs, as he was planning for a fight with Tyson.

Tyson was badly faded after Lewis killed in 2002.... Tyson's KO over "Glass-Jaw" Etienne was a given..... Tyson of 2004 who lost to Williams on some bogus excuse for a blown-out knee, still would hammer Jones and walk him down for a TKO/KO......... Jones is now proven chinny..... Chinny guys do NOT do well with Tyson......

It was definitely close enough to understand people having Tarver winning. Also, I don't buy into the older, slowing, weight drained Jones story. That same story gets told over and over and for this one, it just doesn't make sense. Jones only weighed 193 against Ruiz. He weighed in on fight night against Tarver around 186. That is ONLY 7 POUNDS DIFFERENCE! People used to go on and on about Roy losing 25 lbs of muscles, it's just so damn silly.

Tarver was simply a hard matchup for Roy, and it would have been that way any time that they fought. Roy knew this, which is why that fight didn't happen sooner.

25 pounds of lost muscle weight IS fabled to the max... BUT! I will buy a solid 18 pounds of solid muscle was lost after Jones butchered Ruiz earlier in the year...... Jones was leaner and looked weak in Nov. 2003 at 175 pounds......

    It wasn't 25lbs of muscle.

It was more so about 15lbs.

Mackie even stated that Jones was 200lbs. Why would Mackie lie about it?

The biggest thing that all of you weight drained theorist ignore or forget about is when Jones stepped on the scales for the Ruiz fight, he had clothes on from top to bottom including shoes...
So how much weight did he really put on?

How do you get 18 lbs from 193 to 186? That is 7 lbs!

Roy only cut water weight from 186 to 175... which is why he was right back up to 186 on fight night. He didn't gain back 11 lbs of muscle overnight. Roy was ALWAYS considered a small light heavyweight, the man never EVER struggled to make that weight. Roy was never a real heavyweight just because he fought there, he was lighter than the current Cruiserweight limit for that fight! Anyone who has ever cut weight understands what water weight is. It can't be confused with anything else. Hell, in an interview a few weeks after the Ruiz fight, Jones was on there saying that he was already walking around about 186... which is exactly what he weighed fight night against Tarver. The man had no problems getting to 175.

    From Mackie

Before we went down for the weigh-in we were all kidding what Roy would weigh. Roy had been in the range of 199-200. What happned was Roy got on the scale and a fight broke out between Alton Merkerson and Ruiz's camp. Mark Ratner who was doing the weigh-in never let the scale adjust because the fight had broke out. I know Mark, and told him that's not his weight you should correct it. When Roy went to the hotel room and got on the scale he was laughing and saying "I can't believe it". He takes his shirt off and steps on the scale, and this is on the documentary ESPN did called "The Sweet Science". Mark Ratner was there too. I told him to call HBO so they wouldn't think it was rebound weight and they mentioned that on the broadcast

Honestly, that is nonsense. I have weighed in literally hundreds of times... and the scale would never even come close to reading a weight at 193 if Roy actually weighed 199-200. The scale would have slamed directly off the top. It only starts to move toward the center once you are within a range of half pound to quarter pound. Sorry, Roy getting on that wal-mart scale doesn't prove anything to me. I am going to take an official scale used for major events over that piece of ****.

Jones weighed-in for Ruiz at 193, but was prolly 199 by fight time with roughly 36 hrs to eat and drink before the fight in March 2003...

Jones weighed either 174 or 175 for Tarver at the Nov. 2003 weigh-in, but was prolly 186 pounds come fight time---Due to food and drink....

**** that HBO pre-fight scale, it means nothing.... Point is, both men made the contracted weight of 175 in Nov. 2003.... Its normal to add 6 to a 12 pounds of water weight from the day early weigh-in and the next night fight....

    MR.BILL:bbb:deal:hi:

    NOTE:

Looking at Jones' body against Ruiz and than again later with Tarver, and a difference of 18 pounds, is reasonable......
