The rivalry continues... Thankfully, unlike the circus that the Vazquez-Marquez rivalry became as it extended beyond a trilogy, the fourth battle in the ongoing war between Roy Jones Junior and Antonio Tarver will be waged not in a ring, but in the arena of broadcasting. We could well be looking at a situation where come a year or two from now, Roy has settled into a role as the color commentator de luxe for HBO, while Antonio will most likely have settled comfortably into the same role of color commentator de luxe for rival network Showtime. Based on their on-air exposure thus far (including Roy's old tenure for those who remember it, and his call of Cotto-Foreman for newcomers) who do people prefer as an analyst & personality? Whose boxing knowledge and experience translates better into acting as the non-participant fans' liaison with the sport? Who better serves their broadcast partners and elevates their team? And perhaps, most importantly - who has the longest probable tenure, the most job security? Who will win Jones-Tarver IV? :think
Antonio is boring. Roy never says anything boring or useless. Antonio sometimes throws in lines like "both fighters are here to take care of business".
**** Gil Clancy. Roy and Tarver, two southern guys holding it down in the broadcasting game with their southern accents intact and excelling. I voted that they are both great.
they are both good. Roy Has that Country Bumpkin accent and Tarver Talks out the side of his mouth like an old Skool cartoon. i say it's a tie
:deal Lennox's monologues to the camera were pure gold, I shall sorely miss the incredibly confused look on his face and his uncanny ability to mess up even the simplest of sentences
