****ing right! wow, i just came on here, reading the posts and thinking about how Jones would win and now it looks like the job is already done. Haye's Speed is overrated Jones chin and defense is underrated Jones was one of the smartest ring generals of his time (he was always assisted by near perfect physical qualities but still..) He'd judge the distance perfectly, land just enough shots to shade the early rounds and come on as Haye tired by the 8th. His accuracy would be too much for Haye, who would eat straight rights all night long. WIDE points decision for Jones.
Haye hits very hard. He's also a bit awkward, as he carries the same sort of low guard as Jones, and he wouldn't be rushing in to get picked off, either -- at essence, he's a counter-puncher. He normally attempts to slip a shot, and then use that as a vehicle for a big counter, normally the straight-right. Haye only really starts slugging and rushing in when he has his man hurt. This would be tricky for Jones, because although Haye certainly isn't on the same level of speed, he's still definitely quick himself, and he really does throw bombs. I predict that Jones would dance around him and hurt him on more than one occasion, but sooner or later Haye would land one or two of those big shots...
