Outside of being famous for being the fight where Jones tested positive for roids, it was a classic display of how good Jones actually was. Fighting a tall southpaw with alot of power, who would later fight DM in 2 pretty good battles. Anyone else actually see this fight?
Wasn't this the fight where Roy had him stunned and showed up on the other side of him and hit him again just as he finaly realized where Roy was?
That would be the one.:deal Well, one of the times he did that to someone. Didn't even realize until just now when I was looking to see how tall Hall really was (thought he was 6'1 or so, he is listed as 6'3) that he was the WBA Interim champion and #1 contender.
As I watched the replay of the Tito fight this Sunday I remembered how much of a joy it was to watch him fight. It was like being a kid and watching Jordan play- there were only so many ways a man could dunk a ball but if you were to tune in for almost any game you would see something that you had never seen before. I mean just look at this fight. He wasn't human.
and that is one of many examples as to why I condsider jones to be the most incredible athlete to ever step into the ring.
This was possibly his most entertaining fight. I prefer the Vinny Paz fight personally, but this one he put on more of a show for the crowd.
he sure was not human i seriously doubt whether any light heavyweight in history would have beaten RJJ in this fight he just looks unbeatable he really was something else.
I agree with the Jordan comments. Growing up and watching Jones fight-I just thought he was invincible. Thats why I will always have a special place for him as a fighter.
Roy in his prime was unbeatable IMO. He had inhuman handspeed and threw virutoso combinations routinely. I don't know who could have beaten him. Actually, I think we found out....it was age.
Hall is fortunate he walked out of the ring under his own power. Other men might have been killed. Roy was ruthless that night.
