Loew said no more weight hopping. But the 'roadmap' is Williams, Sturm (or whoever wins the IBF title) then Bute, followed by the winner of the Saurland Six Tourney. So, he could be looking to make the jump to 168 in about a years time. Perhaps because there would be no fights left at 160?

That said, if Jones thought he could beat Pavlik, it would be a bigger pay day than the last two guys he fought so I'm sure we would hear him calling....

Jones was clever. He put on quite a show. I just watched the fight. He was very good at conserving energy on the ropes and Lacy was too close to get much on his punches. Certainly not the fight he could force on Pavlik. Kelly is too good with distance with people on the ropes. Bottom line, IF RJJ thought he could beat Kelly, I think he would be calling him out for the payday. It certainly would be bigger than the last two he managed.

I think a boxer who normaly fights at 175 could be productive at 170 and I don't think Pavlik would be very effictive at the weight.

Pavlik does not have footwork either. And Roy is not the one I worry about being punch drunk, why aren't you calling for Holyfield and Toney to retire? They have taken more big punches in their careers than Jones. If Jones gets knocked out again then I'll agree he must retire, but hes only been knocked out twice in over 50 fights, thats pretty good.

I agree he doesn't really have a lot of fights left, but I can't blame him for wanting to retire with the title, so after he has his final title fight win or lose he should retire. If he fights Dawson, or if it wins the cruiserweight title he will have nothing left to prove.

People don't understand that although Roy fought great on the inside against Lacy, he isn't capable of fighting in the middle of the ring anymore. He has no legs, and he is afraid of pulling the trigger. Pavlik would batter him on the ropes.

He would have a much better chance against Froch and Taylor.

    In a nutshell this.

Pavlik would simply slaughter Jones on the ropes. It wouldn't be fair nor would it be pretty.

Pavlik would knock Jones out, but that fight will never happen.

Are you seriously making a stylistic comparison between Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins?
