Jones vs Sonnen, or scrap the entire card. Which would you have preferred?

Can't blame Jones one bit for passing on that fight. What does he gain by smashing a guy who just got smashed a month ago? (And yes, JJ would crush Sonnen.)

Maybe if it were free, but should anyone have to pay to see a fight between an unstoppable champ and a guy who just got schooled in a lower weight? As others have said, it's too bad that the rest of the fights weren't good enough to carry it, but for all the bitching about bad cards, this is the thing that needs to happen. Now the best fights from that card will be moved along to strengthen other cards.

What do people think the solution is to too many weak cards? It's gotta be fewer of them, of course.

I prefer the updated UFC 151 that will be happening in Toronto in a month. It's a stacked card with Machida/Jones in the main event, and it's the kind of show that Zuffa should be putting on monthly instead of expecting fans to shell out hundreds of dollars a month for a bunch of watered down cards.

I can't believe that anybody would rather see Sonnen/Jones in the main event on Sept. 1, which would be a weak card with a bull**** main event instead of strong card with a fight that people have been clamoring for recently. I find all of this outrage about the cancellation to be highly confusing from the perspective of a fan who wants to see the best possible fights. Too many people are buying into Dana's bull**** line and not looking at the big picture.

A pay cheque, another title defense on his record, and a chance to shut Sonnen's trash talking mouth.
And it's funny how so many are certain Jones would crush Sonnen yet he turns down a supposedly easy fight? Doesn't say much about his character.

But it says a ton about Sonnen's. Hate the guy if you want but at least he had the courage to step in and take on an opponent who would most likely beat him, and possibly badly.
