you shouldn't even try to start digging your way out of the pit you dropped yourself in. You're a dumb clueless fanboy who thinks Jones-Tarver 1 was an ATG win :rofl. Laughing stock. The end. Passionate Roy hater? You're a know-nothing Roy Fanboy . You have zero credibility. None - whereas I'm the complete opposite. Even a child would laugh at your posts rather than give them any regard by bothering to tear them apart. "Null and void" sums your posts up perfectly, actually - so well done :finger.
Dig myself out of a hole? I am not trying, I stand by what I say. More mindless insults from Joe. Boxer where he claims he is some kind of genius without talking about boxing at all.. Why don't you rip apart my post? Because you can't. You have ducked the question above.. just more blah blah blah bull****. Come up with your own ****, you unoriginal *****.:hi:
Joe. Boxer what happened to your v. cash??.:yikes Isn't that supposed to be a disgraceful ammount by Team Elite standards?:rofl Team Elite wanabee reject.lol:
You're doing as you are told - good. Unfortunately you're stuck with this embarrassing "ATG win" nonsense now - which will shame you forever. Unlucky. I could rip apart any of your **** posts - as could anyone with a clue. First let us know when your posts start to be taken seriously. Clueless fanboy fantasy nonsense gets you nowhere. Just ridicule. Myself, along with the rest of Team Elite, are the most original and copied posters on this forum. Fact. ffs try and get something right :-(.
Again, bark, bark the little doggy still doesn't bite.. How many times have i been quoted with a poster complimenting my post in this thread? How many times have you? It speaks volumes Joe.:yep
Joe. If you aren't going to man up and "rip" my post apart, then I would just rather you not post anymore in the thread.
With respect I don't agree with the above. In your opening post you refer to the muscle mass loss as though that is the sole reason for Jones's performance in that fight, and you also say every fighter has one great fight left in them, and we were witnessing Jones's. What you actually saw was a fighter who relied totally on speed and reflexes slowing down to the point where it was noticeable even to Stevie Wonder. There were signs even against Woods. Against the slower than constipation Ruiz he didn't need too much speed or reflexes, and he got away with it, and his more fanatical followers convinced themselves it was the same Jones as ever. He was only 34 when he lost those attributes, and has turned into something of a punchbag ever since, and it is all his own fault. He should never have stayed involved in a sport in which he had no decent grounding to fall back on.
Muscle mass played a role, it also had to do with Roy being close to 35 losing speed and reflexes, it also had to do with Tarver being so motivated, as well as a big southpaw that presented obvious stylistic challenges to Roy and was not the least bit scared.. something we rarely saw in a Jones opponent. Many things played a part, but the fact was, Roy was not the same in that fight. He was actually much better for Tarver 2, when he was knocked out incidentally. I first noticed Roy slowing down as early as the Clinton Woods fight. He beat Ruiz past his physical prime. I figured he could get it done against Tarver as well. I am not sure I follow you here.. as I think his fall from grace had much more to it than just relying on reflexes for too long.
Its not at all hard to work out. Here was a guy that barely took any punches in fights, then took dozens in the Tarver fight, and plenty more of them since. His defence like his attack was based purely on reflexes, and athleticism. All he could do by then, and indeed all he can do now is go to the ropes and try to cover up. Both Danny Green and Lebedev have shown how inept he is at that. As stated he has no grounding in boxing fundamentals, and now the reflexes, and speed have gone he is just another ordinary fighter. His fans can make all the excuses they like, but the fact remains, he can't even " old man " his way to wins against high calibre opponents, because he hasn't got what it takes to even do that. He can't tie anyone up, spoil, control the fight, negate the other guys MO. He never had these abilities in the first place.
His chin seemed to deteriorate as well since the 1st Tarver fight.. He took shots in that fight that would have put him in a coma since then.. His defense was based a lot on just simply having the reflexes to get out of the way.. His attack? Is STILL good when he decides to let his hands go.. Many of those punches he throws took an amazing amount of skill, and legendary ability we have not seen since... His attack suffers more now and recently after the losses because he has been put to sleep a few times, and he thinks twice about pulling the trigger, as well as afraid of punching himself out. He would have eaten both of them alive up against the ropes if he had the chin he used to have... again, how long did it take before his reflexes went so far to the point of not winning? 35 years and 50 fights, 4 different weight classes.. Many fighters are shot before then. That was an entire career right there.. Calzaghe didn't fight that many times, or cover that many weights. As I posted in the original post, Tarver 1 was Roy's last great fight, where he was able to will his way to victory with pure heart over an elite motivated stylistic nightmare for him. As there were times in that fight and the Ruiz fight, where he was able to tie up at the proper times when he may have been in trouble.
