It wasnt an illegal punch. Green threw a right hook, RJJ ducked down, it caught him on the back of the ear. It wasnt deliberate at all.

Fighters that employ the duck and under defense like that are going to get hit in the back of the head sometimes. Its unavoidable.

 

It isn't on the back of the head it's on his ear and jones is turning his head just before it lands, it was a fair win from Green.

No, Jones turned away from it. If he had turned into the punch it would have smashed into his face.

Unintentional as it may have been the punch landed as a rabbit punch which literally clubbed Roy down and bounced him off the canvas like a basketball.

Jones should have been given the appropriate time to recover and he was blocking almost everything Green was throwing at him afterward (including the kitchen sink)! Joe Calzaghe was bent out of shape worse than this many times in the past, often in the first round, and always came back to 'win'.

Knowing how Roy acts when defending the stoppage was too soon. The referee showed inexperience and we have another questionable hometown decision only this time it's outside of the Super Six tournament.

looks like the side of the neck to me. not really a blatant rabbit punch. his punches seemed to have no pop before that anyway. he must be done by now. even when greeb unleashed on him, an old roy would have been able to come back some sick lighting counter.
