Yeah thats boxing. **** happens. Roy Jones Jr will probably come back from this because he wasn't really beaten up bad. But unless he rematches Danny Green his options are limited. He can go on to fight Glen Johnson if he wants, I'd still want to see that fight. He can go and fight Tarver again, but he should leave the younger guys alone, he can forget about Dawson or Haye.

Jones can still fight Hopkins but he should rematch Danny Green, or fight Glen Johnson and Tarver first. He needs to avenge himself against one of the guys who knocked him out so he can prove hes not a shot fighter. If He got knocked out because of a lucky punch he should rematch one of the lucky few who knocked him out and prove it by knocking them out.

I don't think this fight completely ends his career because he did just knock out Jeff Lacy. But I do think he only has a couple fights left and he should fight one of the people who knocked him out, and if he can beat them in convincing fashion then he can try and make a fight with Hopkins if Hopkins wants it. If not he can retire.

If someone can post the final seconds before the ref stopped the fight, Green WAS rabbit punching Roy Jones and pulling his head down. Look closely at the tape.

    Jones turned his head.

Wasn't even a great punch and it had Jones scrambling. Jones just can't take a punch at this stage, simple as that.

That pretty much sums it up his punch resistance is gone ..Hey no shame in that outside of Hopkins how many 40 year olds can take a punch ?

If Jones intentionally turns to have the shot hit the back of the head, it is not an illegal blow.

Also the "back of the head" is a poorly defined area; it can mean anything from anything behind where headphones would fit, to a mohawk type strip.

Jones got KO'd because he intentionally turned away from a punch, that's his foul, not Green's.

It's clear he hasn't been the same since Joe Calzaghe. Look at what happened to the supposed future American Great Jeff Lacey. Hopkins was lucky, Joe had an off night.

i am a huge fan of roy but the punch that was thrown was perfectly legal...landed right on the ear of RJJ and ****ed his balance up..take nothing away from Green as he did what he had to do...

BUT HE ACTING LIKE HE JUSS BEAT A PRIME RJJ...HE DID BEAT AN ATG BUT RJJ HAS BEEN SHOT FOR 5 YEARS NOW

And Jones acted like he was beating top contenders when he was showboating and knocking out guys who were literally part time garbage collectors.

RJJ fans are such hypocrites; he got famous for showboating against part time garbage collectors (he also fought great fighters, not agruing that) and it was all part of how great he was, but when Calzaghe showboats against him it was "disrespectful" because Roy was "too old" (like Calzaghe was in his prime?).

Now when Green knocks him out and celebrates they act offended despite Jones celebrating in excessive fashion through his career, no matter how bad the opponent.

What goes around comes around, and if a fighter is going to showboat and celebrate excessively against all opponents, good and bad, you have to accept it when it happens to him, even if he is past it.

That shot was totally legal looking at it several more times, the only possible foul was on Jones for turning his head, bit it is not relevant; the shot landed in a legal area.

That was Green's moment.......his only moment so far in his career......he had good reason to celebrate.

How many times to Roy Jones Jr. celebrate after knocking out little bit better than journeymen?????

Whats good for Jones Jr. is good for Danny Green!:deal

It sounds like you've taken a few too many rabbit punches in your time, Boner, because you are a brainless boob.

Turning your head to avoid a punch and getting caught is stiff sh!t.

The punch was fair and so was the stoppage.

Go watch the second Mayorga v Forrest fight. Mayorga copped plenty of warnings for back of the head shots but no points were ever deducted because the ref knew full well that Forrest was turning him head to avoid being hit flush in the face.

If you turn your head when the punch is on the way and get hit behind the ear or in the back of the head its bad luck, not an illegal punch.

Stop making excuses. A first round blowout is as emphatic as it gets.

I'm now going to read the thread by all the losers who think the stoppage was premature despite the fact Roy didn't manage to throw a single punch after he was dropped.

I hope none of you dimwits has posted on that one.
