Yes, Jones would dominate him today - right now so should take a smaller split and shut Hopkins mouth once and for all. The Lacy fight cannot be taken as any indication of a return to greatness but it is a good representation of Jones's work rate and the angles he can throw punches from - it also marked the return of his father in his corner I believe & that they've now completely reconciled. Hopkins may tie up, fight on the ropes etc but Jones will get a points win.
I agree. People forget that Hopkins is a counter puncher. He's not an aggressive fighter at all. Stylistically Jones will always be a problem for him.
This has already been covered on here. Lacy was a stationary target for Jones to tee off on. Hopkins could afford to be aggressive against Roy and could, possibly, stop him. After his hammering at the hands off JC would anyone have said this? No, people are getting carried away with how Jones looked against a very limited, low confidence, damaged fighter.
Jones is done on the big stage....i think hopkins can still contend with some of the big names of the sport today, I dont think Jones can...
Sarah always makes these dumb kinds of threads where she makes a few bold, unfounded statements based on nothing but her need for attention.
dont go on how they lost to calzaghe ,jones lost easy and hopkins just lost due to the way they handled the awesome calzaghe`s style and hopkins style was better suited to handle calz. jones v hopkins would be hard to call,it should happen. (i would still favour hopkins though.)
If Roy had the confidence to beat Hopkins , he would have called him out. Jones hasn't picked fighters like Lacy and Green to feast on for no reason. It is to Roy's credit that at his age he looks pretty good in the ring, but he would surely lose rematches to Hopkins, Johnson or Tarver.
roy called him out it's in another thread and recorded b-hop asked for 60-40 roy said lets do 60 for the winner and b-hop declined roy said he thinks he can beat b-hop
