Johnson should get well over half a million dollars for this fight.

He'll have been on the best part of a million for both Green and Froch. There's not much between Bute and Froch, he had Froch ''at home'' but is travelling for this one so should receive a fair purse.

Just because he's lost 15 times doesn't mean he isn't worthy of respect, considering half of those losses were bull**** anyway. He beat Woods three times, he beat Dawson once etc.

If they can get $1.35 for Pavlik, they ought to be near that for Johnson, who's as relevant at the top of boxing as Pavlik is.

Just read the article on The Scene - ''significantly more than a million less than the 1.35 that Pavlik was offered'' - so they've probably offered him around $200k.

That's shite. James DeGale and George Groves made that for their fight.

Undisputed250 - Johnson was not beaten convincingly. It was a majority decision against a bigger name than Bute. Significantly less than 350,000 is unacceptable for some one who has a better resume than Bute. Johnson has often been robbed, maybe that's what they were planning but at least pay him.

Right now johnson is more deserving of the 1.35 Mill and Pavlik of the 250-300k or whatever they offered Johnson. Pavlik looked awful his last fight. At least johnson hung with Froch for the fight but still lost a wide decision.

Exactly. To think that Kessler, Pavlik and Johnson are all afraid of Bute is ludicrous. The man is not Mike Tyson.

Bute can not expect to treat these former champions like he treats all the chumps he's fought in the past. He has to realise it's time to step up the opposition, and that means splitting the money with your opponent.

Every boxing fan knows who Glen Johnson is. People would fill the arena just to see Bute finally fight a former champion and get challenged in the ring. Glen would be the one attracting most people on PPV or cable. I have never watched a Bute fight live (because he has only fought chumps so far), but I would pay to see him fight Glen Johnson.

Kessler has no one to fight as of now...

Pavlik might retire and doesn't plan to fight anytime soon

Johnson might not have a bigger name to fight until he retires and doesn't have any fight lined up

At least Bute is trying to make things happen while those three are just doing **** all.

I agree this whole thing stinks and it looks like Bute's management is behind this. Can't remember the last time a guy couldn't get an opponent for this type of money and it isn't because they are scared of the guy either.....

So Pavlik has the best offer from the three?

    Pavlik 1,3 million

    Kessler (750 000$ Guarenteed)

    Johnson (less than 350 000)

Something is wrong here, it's crazy how Interbox wanted Pavlik, we wonder why now...

Yeah but Kessler would have got 100% of the Danish PPV (around 2M) and an amount from Showtime. Bringing it over 3M. Pavlik is bitting his fingers now and we don't know about Johnson yet.

I'm speechless, Johnson is a friend of Bute and he is about the only quality fight out there for him. I'm behind Bute team on Kessler's mess, on Pavlik's mess, but now I think that they need to wake up and show respect and realism.

Kessler can fight bums in Germany for big money, or fight Froch every few months until they end up shot to ****.

People will keep paying for it.

We'd like to see Bute vs ...................... but if his management won't pay someone fair money to fight him, or won't let him fight on other promotions there's nothing anyone can do.

Kessler wouldn't turn down $3.5 for Bute. If he'd fight Calzaghe for similar money he's not going to run away from Lucy. It's worth noting that Sauerland made a counter offer that was rejected.....

I'd be surprised if Kessler was offered more than a million dollars, otherwise they'd have snapped their hands off instead of countering with a bid to get Bute across the Atlantic.

Instead they put him in with bums like Mendy :-(

Sauerland said they made a counter offer. Interbox didn't acknowledge receiving one, even less rejecting it.
