Jono Carroll who's birth name is Jonathon Baresford born 04/12/1992 is a Super Featherweight with a 16-0 3 KO's losses record. Born in and fighting out of Dublin, Ireland. Carroll who started out his career as more of an out fighter, content to pick and peck his way to unanimous decisions, although I wouldn't call his style dull, just more of an acquired taste, I enjoyed it, because at least he UD'd them in style, but he was the very definition of a featherfist, racking up 1 paltry KO victory in his first 14 fights. But something clicked in fight 15, he went balls to the walls against Humberto de Santiago after suffering a cut early, and turned into a masterful come forward pressure fighter and blasted the Mexican out of there in 3 rounds stopping him for the first time in his career. Evidently that KO gave him the bug for more, so he followed that one up with yet another, stopped his old foe Declan Geraghty in a one sided vicious beatdown, in a rematch of their first fight, which ended controversially in the 4th, after Declan nailed him with a headbutt and an elbow, causing the ref to DQ Declan in a match he was winning at the time of the stoppage. He not only got revenge, but shut Geraghty's mouth who'd been having a war of words with him over the net since their first fight. The other notable accomplishment in Jono's career was winning the Prizefighter Tournament in the UK, beating Stephen Foster, Gary Buckland and Michael Devine on the same night. Jono is a beast, his chin seems solid, and it should since he has a massive lumberjack like beard, that's against regulation, he'd probably be forced to shave it here in the US. Any way, he's got a great backfoot game, he can mix it up, and box at range, and he's a hell of an all action come forward aggressor, he's quite versatile. Very Entertaining and exciting to watch.

Super feather is quite a weak/open division with vacant titles to be contested soon. He could win a world title.

Its not that weak, Berchelt, Davis, Vargas, Rigondeaux???, Roman, Machado, Diaz, Sosa, Salido, Rakhimov, Tennyson, Ogawa, Ito, Garcia, Chuprakov, Yaqubov, Jono, De Leon, Jonfer. Many a fascinating matchups possible here. As far as Caroll goes, he'll definitely pick up a Brit and probably a Euro strap, not sure if he's world level, but I hope.

i think you and I are the only who predicted Jono by a complete domination. I didn’t see the stoppage but I knew it wasn’t gonna be close..

    :D:beer-toast1:

I was back and fiorth about teh stoppage, but right before the fight started I went with Jono by stoppage in 10, I figured the size advantage and accumulation would get to Quigg late.

Yeah I was really sure of it because this fight was 2 weight classes above Quiggs best and he fight pretty stiff. He was powerful before because he was much bigger than his opponents but he was also pretty slow. Jono although light on power he fights with volume punching and speed on top of being the bigger fighter.. All wrong for Quigg
