as comparable to taylor, but now ESB articles claims of a Bute vs Lacy matchup...any thouhts???:think

Bute v. Lacy would be a good undercard event, I think.
As much as I think Lacy gets beat by Bute....damn that seems like a great card (even better with a Lacy - Bute fight on it)...hope it comes to fruition.
Bute is always a bit too relaxed in the early couple of rounds...before he's found his grove. Lacy needs to fight just one good punch to get Bute out of there. If Joppy could curt Bute in rounds 3 and 4, applying pressure and using a good straight right, a left hook from Lacy could do real damage!
Sounds like a great card! I'd like to see Bute fight Lacy, interesting clash of styles. I think at this point, Bute would win rather easily. But Lacy's power will perhaps answer some question's on Bute's chin.
...especially in the first couple of rounds, when Bute finds it hard to get his act together...Bika won the first rounds, Berrio hurt him quite badly in the 3rd round with a straight right and Joppy hurt him a bit on the inside in the 3rd and 4th rounds. A left hook well times from Lacy early on could spell big trouble for Bute, good chin or not.
Punchers chance for Lacy but my guess is Bute beats him. Probably on points but a late KO wouldn't be out of the question. Lacy has been pretty in active due to ass whippings and injuries.
Don't judge Lacy on the Man-afraid-o fight. He was just coming off a layoff and a horrific injury. Jeff can punch, is brave, and doesn't quit. His shoulder injury was at least as bad as Vitali Klitchko's and happened earlier in the fight , but Jeff plugged on, while Vitali quit. Jeffs got some good experience now, and Butte is vunerable to the left hook. I'd say if Butte convincingly beats Lacy, it says more about Butte being really good, than it does Lacy being finished.
Either Lacy is done or he is going through a bad spell and still recovering from Calzaghe and from his injury. He was said to have recovered completely from his injury before Manfredo. If he doesn't recover by the end of May, will he ever recover? Lacy said recently he was looking for a challenge. He said he was ready to test himself against the best again. This could be his chance to get a title shot and reclaim his old title, whilst proving that he is still a live force. Fighting a Manfredo level opponent would not prove anything unless he put in a great performance...
Lacy is done. Although i hate JC, he ****ed his ass up, to the point that he may never be the same fighter.. oh wait, did someone say Lacy always sucked?
If Lacy is done, why do The Ring rate him as the 4th best SMW in the world? And why does he appear on PPV undercards? I agree Lacy is done. And if he is, he might as well go out on a bang!
bute would whoop lacy IMO. not as bad as calzaghe, but still pretty bad. good fight for Bute to make.
i have no idea why that is. i do know that his last fight on PPV vs Manfredo was a snoozfest. His days of being the main event on a card are long gone IMO.
I agree. But Bute v. Lacy would not be boring because a Lacy punch could change the outcome of the fight up till the last moment and everyone would wonder whether Bute would be able to stop Lacy in the last two rounds, on accumulation. Exciting until the end. Bute, also, would get more out of Lacy than Manfredo did. He'd have to be at his best to beat Bute, even with just one punch.
