What are peoples thoughts about him? Seems to have good power and comes with plenty of swag, interestingly his dad was awarded an MBE for services to Karate. British cruiserweight division is looking fairly healthy with a lot of prospects maturing at the same stage in their careers.
It's a record that looks like it's made up of Eastern European Taxi drivers but there's also a Dragonslayer in amongst them all. 9 of his 13 opponents had losing records, heavily losing records in some cases, the Dragonslayer is still yet to win a fight, 0-8, stopped 5 times.
I've been keeping an eye on him. Hes looks good, certainly has power.. has some nice highlight reel KOs. Time to step up now.
I see him as a very similar style and boxer to Lyndon Arthur, but potentially having a little more power / slightly less skills. He looks to be okay, however with this style of boxer you never know until he starts going up the levels. He needs to step up now, get a fringe level opponent or decent English level, such as Chad Sugden / Dec Spelman level.
I know his dad Jeff very well, a former World Karate champion. Hope his lad Jordan does well, definitely comes from athletic stock.
Interesting to note his first 3 opponents with winning records have been his first 3 matchroom fights. I think he will step up against reasonable opposition in the next 12 months. he reminds me a lot of David Haye
reminded me a bit like audley harrison the way he was tentative to fully attack was and scared to get hit tonight lol Got some skills and power, but lacks the minerals.
It's hard to say until he makes a step up. A bit like Viddal Riley. Padded out, unbeaten record against fighters with losing records designed to hype up these boxers. Will have to wait and see.
Watkins stopped Iain Martell quite impressively in his last fight, Martell was 11-0 going into it although it was 11-0 against guys with a combined record of 114 wins, 19 draws and 393 defeats.
