Has there been a diagnosis on the eardrum yet IB? Never ever thought I would be saying this about Arce but for me he seemed to be looking for an out on the night. Have they had their full purses?
Arce quit, disgraceful, disgraceful quit job. After putting the guy down the guy comes back and starts slapping him around. It looked like to me, he gave the guy the back of his head, without protecting himself like 99% of fighters do when they turn their back to their opponents, so that he could get hit there and find his way out which he did.
PR vs Mexico....here we go again lol! Zopilote, I tend to agree with you in most cases though I'd have to sway in the favor of Mr. Rojas here, Arce seemed a bit shocked at the balls the kid showed and while I agree that is Arce's kind of fight he must understand he's going in a war with someone who probably has more in the tank and he realized that with every facial expression he made after the KD.
Kind of understandable though, no? Their heads collided and then he got punched in the *****. Unintentional or not, it hurts just the same. As he's going down he gets caught blind behind the ear.....not the first time a guy has been KOd by a shot behind the ear.
I'm assuming you meant that you must see more of him against Arce or a someone comparably distinguished before making an informed decision...but this reel of early career hijinks should give you a fair impression of his overall temperament and rumbling style: [yt]wjXUirz5g1A[/yt] At the time that was made he was mounting a fresh comeback against cans after a two year layoff having been taken behind the woodshed and deflowered by stern gatekeeper J.A. Beranza. His most impressive result at the time was probably a battering of teak-tough Ghanaian globetrotter Alex Baba...and remains so to date. Strangely, the maker of that video didn't even bother to include it. :conf Just a lot of him kicking cans. (you can tell by the fact that none of his victims shown are bald ebony-skinned guys with "Ali Baba" on their trunks :yep)
Oh yeah, I'm sure it was a real lucid calculated decision coming a split second after a hook to the balls and a skull bonk. Genius.
Arce is the last guy in the world that would take the easy way out. This is no Dirrell we're talking about here.
:good Rojas would have to hit INCREDIBLY hard to suddenly alter the suck-it-up-and-jump-in-the-trenches mindset that Arce has imprinted on himself over the last two decades. Granted, Jesus seems capable of tossing dynamite...but this is El Travieso...
This! It was turning out to be a great fight. I definitely want to see a rematch. old warrior against a young strong up and comer. make it happen!
I think we all do. :yep Bob should title the PPV "Cowards or Heroes: Arce vs. Rojas II" with Arce's WBO title on the line and put Bradley vs. Pacquiao II on the undercard with something like Kelly Pavlik vs. Glen Johnson as tertiary support. :deal I might actually buy that. :think
It's proving a ***** of a task keeping this afloat on the top page, as a torrent of unoriginal threads whining about the "robbery of the century" keeps pushing it to the 2nd or even 3rd page. :-( Can't all the malcontents just keep their bitterness contained to a handful of threads? There should be one sticky for all the weepy ****s. Take a break from tantruming; discuss a worthwhile boxing topic. :deal
Another two page drop! atsch STFU about Bradley vs. Pacquiao, you butt-hurt lemmings. Change the record. :good
