Arce is landing some hard body shots, keeping Parra on the ropes and forced to trade to buy some space. Arce welcomes the trading, taking Parra's body shots without flinching while axing away with his own. Arce stays outside to let Parra flick out some jabs by his head, then comes barreling forward with a right hand that drops Parra to both knees. Parra was more surprised than hurt, and beats the count. Arce jumps on him all the same, swarming him with jabs and overhands. Parra fights him off with his own left jab while backing up to the ropes, and then flops forward to clinch until the bell.

El Travieso sucks down half a bottle of water on his stool. He isn't quite gassing yet, but he's definitely spending energy like it grew on trees.

 

Round 4

Arce is immediately on the offensive, landing big wide left hooks to the body and right hands upstairs to back Parra up. Clinch. Arce works his free hands. Parra turns his left arm crossways to defend himself and backs up. Arce is slugging away with abandon, and forcing Parra to flee or be steamrolled. Parra covers up, and takes some hellish body shots. BIG LEFT HOOK DOWN LOW BY ARCE!! Parra takes a long knee, up to "siete". ARCE JUMPS RIGHT IN AS SOON AS TIME IN IS CALLED. Parra clings to him and tries to maintain the clinch. ARCE IS HAVING NONE OF IT. ANOTHER BIG LEFT HOOK DOWNSTAIRS!! AGAIN PARRA BEATS THE COUNT!! TWENTY FIVE SECONDS TO GO!!! Arce lunges hard with jabs and rights. Parra ties him up.

Round 5

Arce marches in a beeline to Parra, hooking away at the body and hammering down with rights up top. Parra backs up and jabs, then forces his way in against Arce with a sinuous upper body movement. BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY BY ARCE!! RIGHT HAND OFF THE BROW! LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY!! PARRA GOES DOWN ONE MORE TIME, AND STAYS DOWN!

TKO5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

This is as good as Arce has looked since that night. As good as the Vazquez Jr. win, or the Nongqayi rematch, or the quick Castillo blowout.

Much better than the Angkotta rematch, and obviously much better than the first time against Parra (when he arguably should have lost).
