I didn't see this fight, but if the one fighter is down and the referee waves off the count, those decisions nowadays seem to go as KOs. I don't think that was the case even 10 years ago, but it seems to be the way nowadays.

of course, the biggest fight at 122 and below. but i would not be too picky and would want to see an arce-donaire fight as well.

i see. it's just the manner of how you write up your RBRs that it seemd like arce was an absolute monster for this fight. :D

Yeah it would still be a very entertaining fight.

Nonito vs Arce and Rigondeaux vs Nishioka with the winners facing would be the most ideal situation.

It was drunky-pants nigh-nigh time when you posted that!

Those would both be a barrel of laughs. Or a barrel of monkeys.

Or...both? I guess they're not mutually exclusive. At all. :think

    Travieso wishlist:

    1) winner of Yamanaka vs. Darchinyan
    2) King Kong
    3) Perez
    4) Leo Santa Cruz
    5) Morel :thedevil1 (just for the sheer carnage)
    6) Koki Kameda
    7) Iwasa
    8.) DDLM

With the exception of #5, those would all be WAR...in white capitals, on a red baseball cap.

I don't really want to see him in with Mares or Moreno. Both are bad looks stylistically. It would just be an old man getting soundly outboxed.

    I love your RBR's btw I.B.

I don't usually comment in them because I'm usually aslepp when the fights are on (I live in the UK) and when I can't record a fight the next best thing, imo, is bookmarking your rbr's and reading them from page 1 the next morning.

you paint a really good picture and because of your no-spoiling" rule I actually get enjoyment of reading the action unfold round by round.

Just wanted to throw my appreciation out there as one of the silent minority crowd :good

:? Uno, dos, tres... Diez? Parra looked like he took acouple coronitas before the fight. Still pretty mobile tho. Was a full count really necessary IB I don't remember if there was one, but I don't think it was necessary. I don't recall Parra complaining. By the way did you see Sanchez vs the other Parra? What a fight!!! 2 future champs right there. Sanchez really impressed me.

A count wasn't necessary, but my understanding is that when the rev waives the ten-count or standing eight it goes down as a TKO.

This has led to a lot of people getting mad at referees in circumstances where someone is brutally knocked out cold but the formality of the ten-count isn't gone through with, because it "robs" the victor of an ostensibly more prestigious "Knockout" on their record (even though a "technical knockout" can - in circumstances such as those - be just as concussive and authoritative as someone trying and failing to beat a full count of ten and thereby ruled as having lost by plain old "knockout"). People don't like the TKO tag because it carries the stigma of cuts losses and horribly premature stoppages like Calzaghe vs. Manfredo - and they've got a legitimate gripe.

On the other hand, when you have situations where someone is plainly unconscious and requiring medical attention (ie Williams in the Martinez rematch) the official is vilified if he even bothers to begin a count perceived as being unnecessary and in poor taste, and possibly delaying medical treatment for the sake of ceremony.

The poor refs just can't get any slack from the fans, damned if they do and damned if they don't.

So yeah, Jorge can still slug his heart out at a certain level. Let's please not mention his name alongside Donaire's, though. Nobody wants to see that.

Yeah Arce would be a money fight, but I think the better money fight would Rafael Marquez...

What you think about Marquez DOnaire?

I really would love to see him with Marquez, Nishioka, and Mares.
