Two of my favourite fighters. It would be fantastic while it lasted but I can only see one outcome - Rafa by stoppage.

He's bigger, the better boxer and has crushing power. Arcé would have to get inside to have any chance and getting past Rafa's jab and straight-right is going to be a huge problem. If he does get inside, he's going to have to trade shots with a bigger guy who hits much, much harder who is also an excellent in-fighter in his own right.

I love el Travieso but this would end badly for him.

Dont you mean El Travieso?? :D

Prime for Prime yeah Rafa would **** him up, but im not sure how much Rafa has left nowadays, thats why i thought it would be interesting, ya know?

Yeah, what the **** am I talking about? At least I got the "el" part right.

I think Rafa still has something left at the top level. Arcé has been really up-and-down over the past few years and his victory over Vasquez felt a little like a last hurrah to me.

I think Rafa only loses to good fighters in, or near, their prime - even now.

Still wouldn't mind seeing it - neither guy could be in a boring fight if he wanted to.

You were definetly thinking about Jose Luis Castillo there

But yeah, this would be one hellacious war, and im probably gonna agree with you myself here, that Rafa would take it.

That's what I'm thinking also. Plus Jorge REALLY brought it in his last fight. The volume & accuracy of his punches was a wonderment. He might be able to overwhelm an aging Rafa with sheer output.

Arce by KO, but that's partly wishful thinking 'cause I'm a big fan of his.

i actually see it the other way around and think Arce has more left in the tank, still it would be a career ending war for both guys

Helluva fight man! I am a fan of both and Refeal Marquez is getting older but it will still be a great bout. Rafael wins I think.

It could go either way. I would predict Rafa but Arce could win.

Even though he's been through the wars, I've never watched Rafa and thought he was shot, or couldn't hang at the top level. Even in defeat against JuanMa, he acquitted himself well.

Arcé looked pretty bad against Parra and Nongqayi, like he'd slipped quite a bit. Even though there's no shame in losing to Darchinyan, he didn't look like his old self.

His performance against Vasquez was amazing but I don't think he can perform like that consistently at this point. Hope I'm wrong though because I love watching him.

Probably Marquez, though he didn't look too sharp his last time out. I think he'll have serious problems with Nishioka, who is someone prime Marquez would have wiped the floor with.

No doubt Marquez and most likely would be a mismatch.. At best Arce has his moments and wins a couple rounds but.. Rafa has more left than people here give him credit for.

Ok i have changed my opinion after seeing both of their last fights, again

Rafa would be bigger, come on harder and is a bigger puncher. He actually didn't look totally shot against JuanMa. What worries me about Arce is the Vic loss. Rafa is much bigger and a harder puncher than Vic, but just as aggressive and accurate. Arce is tough and has good skills but i see him getting stopped in 9... but very close on the cards at the time
