Jorge Arce vs. Simphiwe Nongqayi II RBR

Big flurry by Arce penning Nongqayi in on the ropes! Nongqayi flops forward and lands another headbutt. Arce paws at his forehead and shoots a pleading look at the ref. Nongqayi has now spun Arce around back to the ropes and flurries on him! Nongqayi lands a headbutt! Point taken from Nongqayi! Arce is dazed by all the butts! His face is bleeding as he walks to the corner to have a doctor look! He gets cleaned up and cleared to go on. A stern warning from the referee to Nongqayi. Maybe a DQ coming up. OR MAYBE A KNOCKOUT!!! ARCE IS MAD!!! HE RIPS AWAY AT NONGQAYI!! TWO MINUTES IN THE ROUND! (none of that time counted after the headbutt for which the point was deducted). Nongqayi flops in and ties up. Arce is rocking Nongqayi back with hooks, straight rights, uppercuts! Blur of activity by Arce! Nongqayi is punching back, mostly scissoring his arms up from his guard!! Arce keeps flashing his hands in his face!

STOPPAGE!! The referee got between them to rescue Nongqayi.

A lot of them were slaps but Nongqayi's head bounced around from a few of those shots. Some of them had real power (at least one hook, and at least one right hand on the bridge of the nose)

 

Nongqayi doesn't seem all that upset.

He has other interests to pursue besides this moonlighting as a boxer. For instance, reprising his lead role as principal production starts on the third installment of The Gods Must Be Crazy...

 

Arce has now not only won a world title in a fourth weight class, he has won and defended. :good
