Linares needs to get away from Roach. His fighters have garbage defense. He already has a great offensive attack but needs defense. Roach can't teach defense.

Wasn't Linares knocked out in 1 round vs. some bum before he even started training with Roach? Linares is who he is.

 

I don't know what the hell Manny Steward's problem is. He had a good amateur career, and has been a top level trainer for a while now. I'm not sure why he sometimes struggles to indentify talent, and accurately point out flaws. Sometimes he's dead on, other times he seems like he has no clue.

 

Linares has no Chin. None.

I can't be the only one who feels sorry for Linares. Sucks to have talent, but cannot find victories, particularly if it's something you may not have alot of control over (chin, cuts).

 

And it's easy to say now he's a hypejob in hindsight, but you cannot deny that if you had no clue who he was, if he were just an unknown guy and you watched the first few rounds against DeMarco you'd say "Wow, this guy is good". That's exactly why he's considered by many to be a hypejob, because his ability is such where one would expect alot from him.
