Haven't seen any threads about Linares. Hypetrain crashed?

    He is facing Sergio Thompson.

Just youtubed some fights of him. Pretty slow operator. His only 2 losses came by MD and SD though.

I guess this is a stay-busy fight for Linares cause the DeMarco rematch is already scheduled for July 7 in boxrec.

How do you guys see it? Is Thompson any threat to Linares? Fight looks sure good on paper.

Not done much research on him really however I'd expect it to be a fairly comfortable win for Linares. May have the odd shaky moment but even if he gets hit or rocked with some big shots he should have learned his lesson on how to tigh someone up. Punchers chance for Thompson.

Edit: you got anything on Thompson's height and reach? He looked about 5'6 ish from my estimates on YouTube?

Agreed, mate. I really hope Linares will bounce back and get another shot for a title. He got all the credentials.

No, just wanted to ask you guys. I found nothing on Thompson's height & reach. Boxrec a *****.

Do you know if the fight will be televised anywhere? Fight is in Mexico.

Me too. If he learns from his mistakes I can see him picking up a few world titles in his career.

It said something about being on fox sports on google, however me being a Brit means watching the fight is highly unlikely

Yeah definitely. I really want to see how Jorge bounces back from his devastating loss to DeMarco this Saturday but I guess I wont catch the fight anywhere on tv either, mate.

Cant wait for DeMarco-Linares II. It will be a great fight. Who r u pcking?

Does anyone know if Roach will be in his corner this Saturday?

Yer it's a shame. I doubt I will put in the effort to try and stream it either, probably just YouTube it a few days after

I think Linares will be the favourite but he's always going to be vulnerable to DeMarcos power which is of a pretty good standard. Valero (r.i.p) took 9 rounds to stop DeMarco aswell so I don't see him being taken out by Jorge.
I'll take Jorge by 117-111 however I'm pretty open to DeMarco with a very early or very late stoppage

Linares' boxing is so easy on the eyes when he gets his punches and movement flowing.

Fight is certainly being televised in both Mexico and Venezuela, but very probably not in the US or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Venezuelan sports channel Meridiano TV has been announcing it for quite a few weeks. Linares is the only venezuelan boxer fighting at world level right now.

One mate of mine does have the channel on his tv so I'll be able to watch it live :good

Wasn't DeMarco Valero's last fight? It was brutal. I agree, cant see Linares stopping DeMarco in the rematch.

Linares looked for a way to outbox DeMarco for 12 rounds with no real attention to really put weight behind his punches. Looked featherfisted at times. Hope he learned from the loss.

**** it, I pick Linares by a shutout over DeMarco in a rematch. Hopefully Jorge looks good tonight :ibutt and be the first man to stop Thompson!
