    Well, over the years, he's the guy who's given Manny the hardest time in sparring so this seems like a good idea.

    Linares doesn't fight exactly like JMM but he has excellent technical skills, good jab and straight-right, so he'll give Pac some of the same looks.

    Wow. Linares is well beyond sparring partner level. I wonder if he would do this for anyone short of Pacquiao. :think

    Linares is fighting himself in October for the WBC Lightweight Title so i guess it's good prep.
    He's been training @ Wild Card anyway so why not? eh

    Linares was on his way to p4p recognition before he got suprise KO'd. He's got a great skill set and I'm sure he'll win his next fight for the WBC lightweight belt vs Demarco and go onto to bigger things.

    Actually I guess it isn't too surprising if you started following the sport after Linares fever cooled off a bit. He was initially hyped up as THE new face of boxing (his nickname even means "Golden Boy" in Spanish) - and not without some justification - before then-unknown Salgado iced him in a hurry.

    He will never regain the invincible aura and hasn't quite been able to restore the buzz around him like Khan did after suffering a similar fate against Prescott, but his reputation has been on the mend as he's put together some good wins.

    On a similar subject, does anybody think that Mitchell may fight Linares - Demarco winner instead of Rios, if he does end up in a world title fight? I really can't see W.arren putting him in with Rios, its absolute suicide.

    a 1st round KO doesn't necessarily mean he has a bad chin. He just got caught that's all and supposedly had issues making weight.

    linares was pac's sparring partner before if i remember it right. he would be a good choice to prepare for someone like jmm.
