Of the limited clips I saw of him, I think he has good power with great technique. He reminds me of the 2001-2002 vesion of Barrera, who beat Hamed and Tapia.

But I recognize Rafael Marquez as the best at 122 and even at 126 if he decides to fight there.

    Who wins?

I would like to see this match up, and the winner moving up to 130 and get in the mix along with the elites in that division.

    We already have:

    Pac-Mab
    Jmm-Barrios
    Guzman-Soto

Valero needs to fight somebody with a pulse. Perhaps the winner of Raf Marquez-Linares.

    Let's get it on! :happy

    Thanks.

Linares is to big and to fast, he would KO rafa. even at 122, rafa's crushing power dint move up with him. he hit israel with alot of clean shot that put away alot of bantams but still couldnt get a kd. and Isreal isnt know for having a great chin.

Can we put him against a featherweight before putting him against 112 pounders and 130 pounders.

I'm calling it the HBO syndrom you have the middleweight champ facing off a welterweight and last night the light-heavy champ meeting a middleweight.

I don't think Linares is quite as invincible as some people are starting to think , he's not that hard to hit and he can be backed up . Linares own work of course is very good but he's no superstar(at least not yet) . For me Rafael Marquez is a killer and stops anyone from 118-126 . But I could be proven wrong .

Anyway Vasquez v Marquez II is in less than 2 weeks :happy .

This kid Linares is the most impressive fighter I have seen in 25 years, and the key here is the beautiful movement. He glides around the ring throws smooth beautiful punches and sizziling combos! Great balance always in positions smooth effortless transitions. The footwork in the ring is most impressive he is elusive instead of just running like many. Questions about punching power and chin! although he stopped a tough guy he landed at will and it took him a bit to get him out of there.

Raf has more power...but Lunares has the tougher chin and yes he is too big for Raf..he is like 5"11 6foot fighting at 126 Raf just moved up to 122 for vasquez and rocked him a few times..I mean his power cam up with him...Next fight will show more.
