The guy has great technical ability, a great name in Linares, so he should go far if he keeps his head straight.

Hard to not be impressed. His skill level is outstanding.

Just wish we'd see more of him on a more consistent basis against bigger names.

guzman is an arrogant, nasty, self-important, under-proven goofball with no sense that he has (and is continuing to) let his athletic peak pass him by in the rust-forming waters of obscurity, inactivity, trash talking, meaningless calling-out of every beltholder. guzman is also blessed with truly impressive athletic gifts. despite his thin resume he is seasoned and cool enough in the ring to know exactly when to bang and when to box out of danger. he has a great intuition about where guys are going to throw shots, and, so, where they can be caught. and his speed has, as of yet, not looked diminished by division hopping.

i think guzman would be too much more linares at this point. too much veteran poise, too much speed and timing. linares likes to time his opponents into his shots, but so does guzman and guzman has the handspeed and footspeed advantage by a yard. i think linares is a terrific prospect and will definitely be a world champion in the relatively near future. he just needs to prove his salt against several advancing rungs on the ladder before he messes around with joan guzman. like i say, i don't like guzman, as a guy, so i'd be cheering for linares, but fight wisdom says he gets outboxed to a wide decision loss.

Guzman would expose Linares,Guzman isnt a shot fighter like Larios or a bum like the rest of the guys that Linares has fought.

right now Linares needs to grow a pair and fight someone with a pulse and then we can talk about how he matches with the top guys.
