I just finished watching the fight again and as a Linares fan I am very disappointed in this lost. He looked great in the beginning yet after the mid rounds and especially after the cuts Linares seemed to lose steam. What do you think is the reason he loses every time he steps up. In this fight particularly do you think the cuts were too much for him to handle or Demarco was just the better fighter?

    Thanks for the input.

Man that was a hell of a fight. Linares was looking good in the first half of the fight but then he started to brawl if I'm not mistaken. Obviously he's not a good brawler and he fought De Marco's fight.

One of the best war I've seen recently.

Agree with Nero. Linares was controlling the fight by boxing and using technique. Give Demarco credit for taking advantage of his opportunities, but had Linares stuck to his gameplan, he was on track to a clear decision.

I'm not sure if he ran out of gas a bit, then started getting hit more or if Demarco's shots took the steam out of him. It's been a while and is probably a bit of both.

Don't forget. He received an even worse azz kicking since then by a nobody(at the time). Was just supposed to be a tune up for a rematch.

And people thought Linares would kill Valero way back when.

That fight had some of the most bizarre commentary ever. If you listened to the HBO team, you would have thought Linares was the second coming of Ali.

Sorry but Linares was really looking great in that fight, I was watching with other commentary and thinking: "Man this guy's amazing, he must be unbeatable". But then, mostly because of the cuts, he ended up losing...
Since then he must have lost something mental, because he really seemed like a very good fighter.

Don't know how "badass" he will be after three vicious ko's. Should have been "working on defense" after the first one.

Linares need to tight op his defense because His chin is not made for taking shots.

Glass skin, no power at LW... Glass chin...

He didn't decide to trade with Demarco.. he was forced into it because even though he was backpeddeling and trying to box.. there was no way out from Demarco agressive style... so he bega trading to stop Demarco... but obviously that don't work against agressive fighters... that is just the beggining of your demise.... also this BS about Linares doing good early yeah he was patting and boxing well.. but demarco was closing the gap little by little until the end.. it wasn't a one round thing.. he was slowly getting to Linares till the end.

    it was hilarious!!

Manny Steward at the beginning stages of the fight: "Linares is the greatest fighter I have ever seen" and this is coming from a guy who has seen nearly every great fighter lol :patsch:patsch

a round later Demarco starts kicking his ass hahahahaha

then at the end of the fight Steward has the nerve to utter his catchphrase "this went exactly as I thought it would" hahahaha Steward the senile old **** is hilarious
