Oh man oh man. This would be a heartbreaking fight because I'm a big fan of both but logically, I'd have to favor Jorge Linares. His style will be a nightmare for a short vasquez and i see vasquez eating jabs and right hands all night. He would get punished by Linares.

Jhonny gonzalez who's a rangy boxer/puncher was clearly beating Vasquez to the punch and knocked him down a few times before getting caught, and his chin was what let him down. Had he had better whiskers, he would have beaten Vasquez and this is why linares has the advantage. He's a bigger and more powerful form of Gonzalez and he has the chin to go along with it.

    Linares would beat him easily.

Linares should fight at least two more times before facing vasquez. If they were to fight now my money will be on IZZY. he's going to break Linares down and TKO him late in the fight.

linares looked good on his previous fights but i think he is still quite raw for izzy. i don't think the jump from 122 to 126 will affect izzy that much. i'd favor him by a late stoppage

i don't get this. is there anyone in linares' resume that you'd say has great punching power? do you really feel that linares' chin has already been tested

If larios and Gonzalez were able to outbox vasquez from the outside, Linares would do alot worse to him and the fight wouldn't be too competitive, as hard as it may be to believe. Vasquez would get beat to the punch and get frustrated by linare's movements.

His chin was tested by Larios, yes the same larios who knocked out Vasquez although he was alot younger, punching power never goes away.. Linares took Larios' best shots and took it like it was nothing. On top of that, Gamaliel diaz wasn't exactly pillow fisted either.

not the same larios who faced izzy a couple of years ago.

    this is 50-50 for me

larrios was a diminished fighter when he faced linares. gamaliel diaz is not a feather-fisted by any means but he also is not a powerful puncher either. 9 ko is 22 wins proves that. two of those came against fighters in the debuts and the other another two came from fighters with records of 0-8-0 and 0-12-1. strong puncher? i don't think so.

Linares is a beast. But i gotta go with Isareal Vasquez he just never quits. What a fight that would be! VASQUEZ by11KO (losing on all cards).

adding 4 pounds should'nt be a problem for israel, considering he is kind of a big super bantam weight. he'd KO linares cold inside 6.
