    Round 8

Khomitsky is lost at sea, getting flurried upon and held every time he starts marching in and looking to bring down his axing right. Blanco is showing off some nice defensive skills and instincts at every range, conserving energy by carrying his arms low, using efficient movement, nothing excessive, just staying a step ahead of Khomitsky and shutting him down when he gets uppity by either clamping on him in a clinch or flurrying enough to overwhelm him. Jabs and hooks swatted out lazily on the backfoot as Blanco coasts out to safety.

    10-9 Blanco

    79-73 Blanco

everything Blanco throws is from left field way to wide and he needs to keep his hands up other than that he's good impressive speed and reflexes.

    Round 9

Khomitsky needs a KO and is acting like it, but lacks the speed to get to Blanco and is starting to exhibit signs of weariness, breathing through his mouth and hesitating before he attacks, mustering up the will. Blanco is just styling on him, throwing jabs and hooks at the body and slashing down with the right from outside.

    10-9 Blanco

    89-82 Blanco

    Round 10

Khomitsky is cut by the right eye and getting jabbed on it repeatedly, along with his swollen nose. Blanco is able to score with that high fishing-line right hand while thrusting out and planting his rear foot to root his balance. Khomitsky starts walking onto combinations and getting lit up, Blanco getting a bit sloppy but laying a whole lot of leather on his man.

    10-9 Blanco

    99-91 Blanco

    Round 11

Khomitsky is starting to get worked over now, slapped across the starboard half of his face with left hooks and driven to flee by leaping straight rights from Blanco, who is now firmly in the driver's seat as the constant aggressor. Khomitsky is uncomfortable being forced into survival mode and can't even summon any counter-punches to hold Blanco off. Blanco isn't pressing for the kill, just doing enough to point-score and still giving Khomitsky enough respect to dance away from him after landing in bursts.

    10-9 Blanco

    109-100 Blanco

    Round 12

Khomitsky is giving it his all in his last opportunity, finding a way to stiffen his jab and put enough zip on it to drive Blanco into the ropes. Khomitsky following with a chopping right hand after doubling and tripling his jab. Khomitsky is very determined, chasing Blanco around the ring. Khomitsky might have stunned Blanco with a big chopping right set up by a few stiff jabs. Blanco is dancing away, on his bike, hands down. Khomitsky won't stop coming, but runs out of time.

    10-9 Khomitsky

    118-110 Blanco

Blanco & Uzcátegui ready to carry the Venezuelan boxing torch with Acosta done for and Linares so inconsistent.

Hell, if Linares coughs up his belt tonight, you could argue that either Blanco or Uzcátegui is the nation's current p4p #1.

I'm actually more impressed by Blanco then Uzcategui from what I've seen of both (which is little).

I'd like to see them mix it up. Boxer-puncher vs. puncher-boxer, would be fun.

hopefully Blanco & Uzcátegui will be a better batch than Linares and the other guy who shouldn't be mentioned.

Wow, Blanco actually had a really good amateur career. He represented Venezuela at the Olympics in Beijing, and had a stellar run in the world championships in 2007 (defeating James DeGale and Darren Sutherland, but losing in the finals to Mat Korobov and taking a silver medal)
