Great news. I knew months ago that it was very likely Linares was going to be next for Loma.

Loma is Manco (Clint) and Linares is El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte)

Great fight, cannot wait. Well done to all involved for getting it made. Lomachenko on points, Mikey Garcia after that please.

When was Linares ever all that good, even smack dab in his prime? He's a B fighter whose generally successful boxer-athlete style is powered by some good speed and coordination, but whom has exhibited a clearly exploitable compound of flaws and fragilities that seperate him from the elite specimens he would aspire to. Lomachenko is certainly a grade above and should win quite handily here.

Every so often, people will get excited about a proposed matchup and I will struggle to understand why. Mayweather-Canelo was one, this is another.

Linares is a decent enough start to a 135 run, but Garcia is the matchup that matters. The two sides (Top Rank, Haymon and Co.) need to come together and make it happen.

Consistency is the key. (Something that bit PBC in the ass as well.)
Loma kicked off his career on HBO, then it was SHO for a fight, then HBO PPV for a couple of years and eventually back to HBO.
Loma had only 3 consecutive fights on HBO but the ratings increased each fight. As is with most fighters who fight on a select channel in regular intervals.
Rigo ran around like a mad man. He had no consistency and an enormous amount if inactivity.

No one other than you, and perhaps some of the ethno-warriors on here, believes that Beltran would have been beaten Lomachenko.

Loma dominates that kid, and deep down, you know it too.
