Linares is a bit over rated. He hasn't beaten anyone of note since getting whooped by DeMarco and that other guy. He's fought domestic level opposition since. Loma should take this one.

Props to Jorge for forcing Golden Boys hand. Oscar and GBP were not wanting this fight to happen. Linares is one of those boxers who was not all talk in actually wanting to fight Loma like many other champions at 126 and 130. Great fight and can’t wait to see it

It was all Golden Boy looking to prevent this fight. Bob was eager to make this fight reality.

I would have liked to see him fight the other champions at 130 but they were not pushing for the Loma fight the way Linares was. It’s unfortunate because Berchelt, Machado, Ogawa and even Davis would have been easy fights to make....not as much money but still good fights. I think the champions at 130 are fine with Loma moving up and out of their division.

Why "feign" stupidity and ignorance when it comes so naturally to you, ISAL?

If Lomachenko is not the man at SFW, than who is?? By your comments, it is clear you are referring to Beltran as being his principal competition for that title, no? God knows you've been ball-jockeying the Mexican as a real threat to Lomachenko

    This.

Isal, however, seems to believe that Lomachenko is avoiding a unification tilt with Beltran, a laughable proposition on its face.

Yea...we had an exchange over this topic. I know Berchelt is a good fighter and would be game if he secured a fight with Loma, but his actions and call outs were wishy-washy. Lol. Berchelt was looking to fight Loma before the Rigo fight and was actually considered but ultimately Rigo got Loma. Afterwards Berchelt completely stopped calling out Loma and eventually worked out a fight with Mijares...2 weeks after the Loma/Rigo fight.

If Berchelt called out Loma to step in for Mijares after that fight fell through, the Berchelt/Loma fight could have been made. But instead, he went after Magala....that fight also fell through and still he didn’t mention Loma’s name...instead Berchelt fought Awuku? By that time Linares was calling for Loma to move up to 135 and face him. Linares was firm on wanting the fight and even threatened his promoter with legal action if they blocked the fight. That’s the difference between a fighter who is serious about wanting to fight Loma vs a fighter who is merely just offering up lip service

I've seen more noise coming from Berchelt than I did Linares. The question is why didn't Loam want to fight Berchelt after he was being called out before and after the Rigo fight.

    This is an insane fight.

If the winner of this faces Garcia, wow. What a matchup that would be.

It would have been a great fight, no doubt and the best that could be made at SFW, but now he's fighting the best fight that could be made at LW so I don't really see the problem tbh.

With the complete domination of Rigo, I put Loma at #1.
