Funny you would say that given that Mexican boxers are the worst duckers in the sport currently. Canelo, Santa Cruz, Salcheato, Gilberto Ramirez etc.

Of course. I’d like to see all champions take on one another especially if they aren’t the kind of fighters who move up multiple weight classes. I just know that it’s not always realistic when you have fighters who are deemed high risk/low reward. Guys like Rigo and Loma are avoided for that reason...Rigo more so. Berchelt I still believe Berchelt could have secured a fight with Loma immediately after Loma dispatched of Rigo. Loma wasn’t sure if he was going to move up or stay at 130 at that point and Linares wasn’t pushing for the Loma fight at that time. Hopefully Loma will have opportunities at lightweight to unify? We will have to wait and see if he can get past Linares

Linares isn't bum, but he isn't even close to what you Loma dickriders are trying to make him out to be. This is coming from a huge Linares fan. Linares is a very good fighter, but he's not a p4p fighter. He struggled against Mitchell, and scraped by Campbell. These are just facts.

Loma would beat Berchelt easily. Linares is a better fight since he's a bigger man and Loma is moving up.

Amazing how you are so willing to jump on anything to accuse Lomachenko of ducking.

The truth is that both Berchelt and Loma would like to fight, but there isn't close to enough money in the pot to satisfy their demands. TR vice-president Carl Moretti made enquiries with Berchelt's team but the financial expectations were too far off for the fight to be feasible right now.

I agree he's not P4P but will be a very good win because Loma is the smaller guy moving up and Linares is top 3 in his division.

Yes, it would be a good win. Better win than Rigo forsure.

I don’t think anyone is claiming he is a p4p fighter. Linares is a very good boxer but p4p is a very small segment of the professional boxing community.

Most boxers aren’t fighting p4p guys, even the top guys in the sport. Crawford hasn’t faced one p4p boxer in 32 fights.

However, Linares is at the moment the best lightweight in the world. Garcia would be if he was still at 135 but it doesn’t look as though he will be moving down to fight Loma or Linares so the winner between these two will be recognized as the best 135 lber in the world.

No one considers Berchelt a real threat to Loma and even less believe Loma ducked Berchelt because he’s not viewed as a fighter anywhere near Loma’s level.

I would have still loved to see Loma fight all the belt holders at 126 and 130 before he was forced to move up....but it wasn’t in the cards. Loma is looking to stay active against the best “willing” opponents and Linares did what the other champions did not. Which was back up his words calling out Loma with action.

A lot of people have Loma’s name in their mouths these days but when it comes to actually taking the steps towards solidifying a fight with Loma, few take the steps to make it a reality. Linares and Rigo are blue prints of what a serious call out is and the results speak for themselves.
