Absolutley, Gamboa TKO 5, easy. Linares has defensive holes and I'm almost certain he has chin liabilities, he'll also freeze up at times if he's being thrown at by a high workrate and Gamboa keeps this. Linares' timing and accuracy is also not what it's made out to be, as seen from the early going's in his last bout. Linares is really not in Gamboa's league, it's ridiculous that Linares gets so much hype.
This is a matchup and a half!!!:happy All I will say is that it would be interesting, Linares, when I saw him, looked very sharp, future p4p, as for Gamboa, well, only seen a few clips so I cant comment, but most people seem to think hes also a future p4p, therefore we have a great matchup:good
You think it would go down that easy, I personally thought Linares has the tools to be p4p stalwart in the future. Is Gamboa THAT GOOD?????????
I won't call it as drastic as Amsterdam said it - to me, Lineares seems to have the footwork and ability to use his reach to offer Gamboa a very competative bout. I see this one more of a 50/50 match up than a mismatch...
Fo shizzo ma nizzo. Only the true cheerleaders would say that this fight isn't a 50/50. Who has gamboa beaten that would make him a favorite in this fight? Linares is the slight favorite IMO but Gamboa would be a very live underdog.
i think linares will be a force in hsi division in the future (certainly more than khan, berto etc...). but imo we really should be asking the question the otherway around. does linares have what it takes to beat gamboa? gamboa is scary good.
People seem to forget Linares looked like **** in his last fight. But since he ended the fight emphatically with a vicious KO, it's like people have selective memories. Linares does not throw nearly enough punches.. he will be overwhelmed by Gamboa's workrate, yes even at this early stage in Gamboa's career. He's the real deal!
Plus Lineares is still in his developing stages - he's just 22/23 years of age...youth is on his side for years to come. Lets see how he progresses (and he's already a top fighter at 126) over his next 1-2 bouts - I love how this thing with Gamboa could become 1 of the greatest rivalies in boxing at lower weight classes..
lol what makes you think that? first of all i really like both fighters, both have different but effective styles. linares is probably quicker than gamboa, and possible even more accurate. gamboa, from what i've seen, has great defensive abilities but he throws his punches a little wide and sloppy. if they were to go 10-12 rounds i would choose linares in a heartbeat because it would be such a huge step up for yuriorkis, and linares is much more developed as a professional.
Speed wise, Gamboa is to Judah like Linares is to Mayweather.. Gamboa might have the edge in pure handspeed, but Linares' sense of timing on his punches are top notch.. It's like Judah throws faster flurries but Floyd is more accurate and timed..
