He got that perfect weapon for Lopez' right hook.. His straight right hand would reach the target much faster than a right hook.. He got that southpaw killer weapon.. uh huh... Linares would outbox lopez and break him.

Gamboa would be an easier fight... OMG Gamboa is a knockout waiting to happen for real.. He's another hypejob kinda like Francisco bojado.. Being fast and flashy doesn't mean that's someone is good.. Linares would expose gamboa's wide open defense, fo shizzo..

    Thoughts?

Gamboa's comp is already better than Linares.....Linares is overrated, would like to see him succeed, but too many nuthuggers on here give him respect as a 'two-weight champion'.....Larios was a corpse when Linares fought him.

    Thoughts... Ah... You're mentally ******ed??

Gamboa has FARRR more talent than Linares.

    Ditto with Lopez.

Lopez vs Gambo would be an interesting fight. I would pick Gamboa without hesitation personally. Too much speed, the naturally bigger fight, with probably equal power.

Would definitely be a great match up however.

Having natural talents dont mean everything homey. U should know that if you know anything about this sweet science... Ricardo Williams and Bojado were mad gifted but did they go anywhere??

Yes Gamboa has more natural talents but he has no fundamental game. His defense is non existent and he's just wide open for counter shots. It's just that he haven't met his match yet but as soon as he faces a boxer-puncher counter puncher, he's going down.

Linares would punch a hole in him.

Funny, I would question your mental status after your analysis. Have you seen Linares fight. Watch about 10 of his fights before you speak about his skills again. I've done the same with him and Lopez, and there aren't that many fights available on Gamboa but from what I've seen, he's wide open defensively, and reckless offensively. He's got comparable strength to Lopez, and he's got power, but his "skills" might be exaggerated a little because of his gold medal. He definitely has skills, but he doesn't use them effectively because he's not much of a jabber, and you don't see as much effective movement from him. You see all of those things in Linares, and you see strong jabs from Lopez. There's a big difference between being more talented and actually using your talents to the max. Linares uses a lot of the tools that a boxer is supposed to. Gamboa has been quite reckless so far, from what I've seen. He's a very short fighter, and he essentially fights like Mike Tyson without the head movement or defense. And calling him more skilled than Linares is absolutely laughable, considering that Linares can throw certain combinations with a speed and accuracy that only a few boxers can do.

Gamboa would also have a problem against Lopez because Lopez has a sturdier defense, while their both big punchers, but quite frankly I consider all 3 to be live against each other. So all of this "Gamboa would wuup Linares" or "Lopez would kick Gamboa's ass", stuff is just people trying to pretend like they're skilled boxing predictors. Try fortune-telling fellas.

I'd pick both to take the overrated Linares out within 3-4 rounds.

Linares is way overrated. The fact he is a two-weight 'champ' without beating anyone decent (Larios looked a state when Linares beat him) and fights out of the Teiken gym (which 'boasts' Valero as one of their main guys) leads me to believe he'll soon be, and I hate this term being used, 'exposed'.

Agreed. I can't believe people are so fooled by this guy's style. He is a very basic stylist with good combinations when he's able to unleash them against his defenseless opposition. He's also slow, stiff, and open defensively. A skilled technician, puncher or pressure fighter would give him a lesson. Basically any top notch fighter for that matter.
