    I loved the guy. He brought humor to the ring and as a former clown, knew better than anyone else to draw a laugh. Great fighter, I miss seeing him act lik a payaso.

    I've always felt Paez should've moved on from fw @ least a year before he did, & perhaps bypassed 130 altogether. the fight below was a non-title match smack dab in the middle of his fw reign - he had to lose 2 lb on the day of the weigh-in just to make full 135, so I can't imagine how much of an ordeal it must've been to make 126. I suppose there was big $$ to be made in a unification w/ Espinoza & a challenge of Lopez, but I think the abuse he subjected his body to during those years would take an early toll on him.

    If Esparragoza cut loose w/ the same intensity that he did in his title winning effort vs. Cruz, I think he beats Paez. Paez would always vulnerable to opponents who kept the heat on him & didn't allow him to coast in between his flashy flurries (i.e. Dorsey, Lopez, Ruelas).
