I'm shocked. I thought that was Hooker's fight. Maybe overwhelmed by the fact that it was in his hometown and all the pressure that goes with it. He should not have lost that fight.

First it wasn't an obvious mismatch. That said Hooker seemed to hang with Ramirez for the time he was in there, but I did have concerns with his shelling up and just totally giving up the inside game. I wonder if it was their gameplan? It was rather stupid cuz he was giving up whole portions of of each round to Ramirez. When Hooker was fighting on the outside it was pretty even but on the inside... Hooker had no business doing that.

Really impressive finish by Ramirez and it was an enjoyable fight for as long as it lasted. I had Ramirez winning almost every round as I thought he was doing the better work and just more of it even during the rounds where Hooker was doing good work himself. I was leaning towards Ramirez going in but I thought it would either be a late stoppage or a UD. Feel a bit bad for Hooker losing in front of his home fans like that but I've always rated Ramirez and thought he was the goods. One thing I knew about him is that he's tough and got a really good beard on him and I knew that would give him an edge in this fight.

That was a fun fight...Hooker was too nervous, should have took the fight to him from the opening bell. Would have given him a better chance, not necessarily a great chance but a better chance.

Agreed. The winner is the only big fight out there for Ramirez at 140 since Mikey's on record saying he'll never fight him. Hopefully we can see that fight get made.

Hooker fought a dumb fight with that reach advantage he should never fight on the inside.

Hooker was just to slow. He tried to throw that jab but it was long slow jab allowing Ramirez to close he distance and make it an inside game.

Ramirez also looked like the stronger fighter he pushed hooker back all night long when they clinched.

Now poor Frankie Edgar is going to get the **** beaten out of him by Max Holloway. Can't believe the UFC actually charged for this crap card.

On the site I score fights at 4 out of the 6 people that scored this fight (so far) had it dead even after 5. Hooker definitely had his moments, but he got shook after that bogus KD in a round he was winning, then gave away another round he was winning in the second. Most people so far saw him winning rounds 3 & 4, and a few have given him the 5th which Ramirez won.

    Anyway doesn't matter now.
