Ivan reminds me of Maidana before Garcia was his trainer...Just flawed enough and raw enough to always bring an exciting fight

I think Prograis beats Taylor in rematch. Prograis was too wide-eyed fighting in the UK. He was like a kid in a candy store. Prograis has always been laid-back but he was too humble that night. He didn't have the fire in his belly.

I don't think Baranchyk has a bad chin as such he just leaves himself wide open after hurling those big bombs of his and Zepeda is the perfect fighter to exploit that because he's a really good and precise counter puncher who also packs a heavy dig himself. Had Baranchyk not kept leaving himself wide open like that he could've very easily won and maybe would have. It's a terrible flaw in his game which has been exploited in numerous fights of his before.

    His chin is not fine.

Even Abel Ramos badly hurt him some years ago.

There's been guys who had shitty defenses, and solid chins. Baranchyk is not one of them.

That's interesting, what do you make of Josh Taylor's power? Low-mid?

Got many guys holding that shot tonight?

But it never appeared he was hit nearly as hard as he hit Zepeda. Some guys are just concussed so much easier than others. I would say Baranchyk falls into that group. It's possible that even though he is in incredible shape he may be too weight drained. Either way, I can't see Baranchyk ever getting above upper level. He just doesn't have the chin. I remember watching Baranchyk when he was starting out, fighting in the tiny NYC venues and just blew guys out, but no one was catching him. That's the difference at the upper levels.

I think we really have to understand that Baranchyk made Zepeda look like Superman because Ivan can't take a punch. Ivan is not as good as we may have thought. We have a tendency to make the winner out to be more than he is in a fight like this because they win in such dramatic fashion.

I think Baranchyk is effectively done as a fighter. I hope he's okay.

Zepeda, Taylor and even Ramos who also dropped Baranchyk are all hard punchers. Ramos hurt Ugas pretty badly a couple of times IIRC last time out and he barely let his hands go in that fight.

And like I said, it's the type of shots Baranchyk gets caught with - big counters during exchanges that come right out of his field of vision as he's wide open and not expecting to get hit or prepared to take the sting of the shot and those are really dangerous shots. He makes the same mistake again and again and I lost count of the times he did it tonight too. Zepeda would always be a very dangerous opponent for him because of his power, accuracy and counter punching skills.
