Gemino really chiseling a hole in Zurdito's ribs with those dash-in uppercuts. He stole the sixth, fighting like a buzzsaw, avoiding the Sánchez jab.

    Round 7

Sánchez Jr. is reaching and missing with the jab over Gemino's back, which lies flat and pointed at the ceiling. Gemino is leaning and sidestepping, using crossed arms to screen out Sánchez Jr.'s flurries of straight punches when he bothers with them. Mostly just the jab from the Mexican, not very sharp with it. Gemino is pecking at the head with his left jab from angles, Sánchez Jr. never seeing him coming. Sánchez Jr. rushes in and lands a few uppercuts on the body. Gemino jogs away from him, bouncing on his toes, in and out and to either side in short glides, avoiding the body attack follow-up.

    10-9 Gemino, close

    67-66 Sánchez Jr.

The crowd is booing. I can't tell whether they're mad at Sánchez Jr. for his substandard performance or Gemino for not just standing in place to be KTFO. :yep

    Round 8

Sánchez Jr. is crowding Gemino, trying to trap him on the ropes, but is walking onto left jabs rowed up stiffly into his face. Gemino is lying in ambush, waiting for Sánchez Jr. and springing to action with quick reflexes when he accepts the invitation. Sánchez Jr. makes a show of force, wading in with some hard underhanded body slaps, but Gemino counters in combination and they are drawn into a prolonged firefight, with Gemino getting the best of it.

    10-9 Gemino

    76-76

There are still no light bulbs over Sánchez Jr.'s head in the ninth. If he can't solve this puzzle, and provided fair scoring, we could be headed for an upset!

    Round 9

Sánchez Jr. is following and getting blunted on the left forearm of Gemino when he throws a southpaw 1-2. Gemino is countering with high line drive right hand leads and sweeping a hook as he spirals away from Sánchez Jr. BIG left cross by Sánchez Jr., finally catches Gemino square on the jaw by the ropes. Gemino hurt but jogs it off. Sánchez Jr. keeps walking him down and pumping the 1-2.

    10-9 Sánchez Jr.

    86-85 Sánchez Jr.

That had actually been a good round for Gemino; he landed some nice body shots in the first two minutes.

    Round 10

Sánchez Jr. is rocked by a left hook as Gemino leaps up at him! Sánchez Jr. is backing away, pushing the right jab out defensively. Gemino is sashaying in after him, throwing big straight rights on an incline. Gemino in a tight shell coming forward, elbows high at his chest, face covered, bobbing and weaving. BIG SHOTS BY GEMINO!! Uppercuts with both hands running in, scoring! Clinch. Sánchez Jr. misses a left hand and is chased across the ring as Gemino rises from his defensive crouch with an explosive flurry. Gemino stands off just outside jabbing range, feet set wide, ripping hooks on the body and jabs and rights at the face of Sánchez Jr. Body shots in reply by Sánchez Jr.

    10-9 Gemino

    95-95

I'm not holding my breath for Gemino to actually get the draw, but he deserves it.

This kind of reminds me of when Jomar Fajardo unexpectedly drew with Francisco Rodriguez Jr., with two differences:

    1) That was in the PI, this is Mexico..

    2) I think Gemino performed a lot better than Fajardo did.

96-94 is maybe acceptable, but Gemino didn't lose seven rounds. :bart
