How can he not be in consideration? Maybe I interpret that word a different way, but in consideration would be in the top few.

He is the absolute best in a division that has a lot of quality fighters, like he is in a different world than the rest of the class. I also think he could make the cut down a weight class. That has to put him in contention.

No. He is absolutely a top 10 p4p fighter and probably a top 5 but he is absolutely not #1, not yet anyways.

If you are considering something than that means it is a viable possibility. So the question that is being asked is whether or not Aldo could be considered the best fighter in all of MMA.

At this point I think that is a bit of a stretch. I don't think that Aldo should really be in the conversation. However, I don't really think that anyone is suitable to challenge GSP's dominance right now.

Aldo could maybe be second best, maybe. Truth be told Silva hasn't looked good for a while now. Pound for pound isn't based on consecutive wins, it is based on dominance; Silva has been in a lot of lackluster fights and damn near lost his last one. He just doesn't look all that dominant anymore...

Still, I don't see how Aldo could be considered better than GSP at this point...

He is the best, in my opinion. The most well-rounded technician I may've ever seen. It's him and GSP for #'s 1A and 1B at the moment.

GSP and Anderson are clearly #1 and 2 at the moment.

I think Aldo has been looking easily better than Anderson these days.

Not yet, but a few more good showings...................... then we can talk.

Oh and I doubt he can cut to make weight, he is gigantic for a 145er probably cuts a ton to get down to defend, kinda like Silva.

When someone uses the word "best" I always take it on meaning how good I personally think a fighter is head to head whereas "greatest" has more to do with accomplishments. So with that said, I'll say Aldo flat out is the best p4p fighter in MMA right now.
