Knew about Benavidez a while. A Boxing magazine over here in the UK (Cannot remember which one it was) went to the Wildcard to do an article on Manny and ended up doing one on Benavidez. It was when Roach had just gotten' holda' him. Roach said Benavidez does thing's naturally it's took him year's to learn Pacquiao to do. He's one for the future, no question. The sparring video, obviously it show's the kid's potential, but also Pacquiao won't go 100% on him for obvious reasons. He show's Pacquiao's weakness for uppercut's mind haha
Yep.. well of all the videos ive seen of Benivedez, i was never WOWed.. He looks decent but i wouldnt bust a nut this early.
I'm a fighter, and let me tell you that sparring means something. Sometimes. I'm currently a 3-0 pro, and my trainer always puts me in with guys who are just starting out, just for their benefit. I don't go my hardest, of course, just like Pacquiao wasn't in that video with Benavidez. If you just watch, you can see that Jose froze up everytime Pacquiao began throwing, which is the same thing those newbies I go against do, they are all He-man, until I show them how easy it is to counter their ****. There are sparring matches that are intense. Sessions where every eye in the gym is on those two guys, but Benavidez-Pacquiao? That wasn't one of them.
unless benavidez and khan go with a different trainer which I don't see happening any time soon they will never fight each other.
Benavidez owned porter if I recall. Benavidez is a future superstar, very good speed, size, power, skills, very young and with the best trainer in the world.
