He's too Mexican or "white" to be a cholo.

Benavidez easy. It'd be interesting to have a Gomez-Vargas fight. Gomez is like a lil pitbull and fights very aggressive. If Vargas ever decides to move up in weight, a Benavidez-Vargas fight would also be very interesting with Roach and Mayweather having their star pupils not named Pacman or Floyd fighting each other. Those would be very interesting.

What kind of style would you classify Vargas as? I haven't been able to see much of him.

Well the one I saw it was a premature stoppage, but Gomez was letting his hands go and it's too early to tell if he has a defense, but for sure he has speed and some power in his offense. He's not too reckless though he reminded me abit of Maidana where he tries to find his mark. So at this point IDK if he's a brawler or ko puncher type. Too early to tell.

From what I've seen I think he's more of a ko puncher or tries to be. He doesn't stand toe to toe in close quarters and paws abit with his jab ala Mosley as a range finder and then unloads the left hooks or right hands after. He doesn't have devastating one punch power, but more like pummeling, heavy handed power. Seems like he has fast feet and good footmovement, but his feet seem faster than his hands. Or maybe it's just me.

Gomez looks like a swarmer to me. I was AZZking about Vargas. The guy trained by Roger May!

Vargas if you watch carefully fights very similar to Floyd with a great guard, alot of patience, and finds cracks in his opponents defense, but only thing is he can be lured into a fight and he's not bad at all with infighting either. Vargas is definitely a boxer. I have higher regard for Vargas and Benavidez than Canelo actually. Gomez I still need to see alittle more.

Watch him fight. He's the most talented fighter in boxing, he's like Roy Jones Jr was. Some people are just naturally gifted.

Benevidez COULD become a great fighter, but he needs to keep his head down for a few years, and train very hard. Potential is nothing unless you put in the hard work to achieve it, and the distractions of fame and fortune can lead to you wasting or at least not achieving your full potential
