He's a 17yr old up and comer (4-0) training with Roach. What do you think about him? Does he seem promising to you? I saw his last fight and he made pretty quick work of his opponent knocking him down 3 or so times using body shots, he looks good to me. Your opinions?
He definitely looks good, specially when you consider his age. I'm also confident that Freddy Roach won't commit the mistake of rushing him and hurting his career like so many other young prospects have. It seems like a good combination they got going: a young good fighter willing to put in the work and a trainer who knows how to get him to the top.
Make sure to bump this thread once I see less enough red to take another unbiased look at the kid. I know I like him but can't remember details on the specifics, at the moment.
he hit the bag while was standing with my back to him i heard the sound of hitting the bag i had to look it's this kid benavidez is awesome if he keeps his head on his shoulder he will go far!!!!
I assume you are talking about the **** posted on YouTube. In which case I'd have to say --> Nah Pac and him where going back and forth. It seemed to me like Pac was clowning abit when Benevidez was having his success. But when Pac stepped it up he was doing good. It was a pretty ****ing dope ass sparing session though.
The kid is a phenomenon. Roach considers him his best fighter ever. He's kinda tall, rangy, strong, very composed, power in both hands, and is being compared to a young Sugar Ray Robinson. The sky is the limit for the kid.
Don't be ridiculous, Pac didn't even get out of first gear ffs. You never see Pac that defensive in a real fight.
Pacquiao was taking it EXTREMELY easy on the kid, come on now. But he's definitely the goods! There is also footage of him sparring Shawn Porter on YouTube.
