Get me more of this guy cuz I have just became a huge fan. A 140 pounder putting the hurt on the bigger/stronger Ortiz. He clinched smartly, the hook was on point and the counter right hand landed every time. Much props and respect to this kid. This is why I love boxing.

Honestly he should get back to 140 and ravage everyone there.

i love this guy. he fought the perfect fight, punked Ortiz mentally while in the slugfest, and stole Ortizs fans in the arena.

and he low key clowned Ortiz in the post fight interview. NOBODY expected this. hes proof that dreams can really come true.

He should go down to 140 cause all hell. Then move up for a huge PPV. If I was his promoter that is what I would do.

I agree 100% my man. He made myself a big name in the boxing world. A few ago this guy was a nobody now hes the smaller fighter that not only broke Ortiz's jaw but quit as well.

Now I'm intrigued if Mathysse can dent Lopez' chin.

idk, all i know is that Lopez was landing alot of solid blows. i think even the people at showtime had Lopez ahead too. it was close. but i thought he was winning. it seemed like Ortiz corner was panicking.

    ill watch again tomorrow.

Indeed they were, but na Ortiz was up on all the cards. The closest one had Ortiz up by two. One judge had him up by 5 rounds!!!! Smh. Crazy lol

I used to spend a lot of time in gyms out in riverside, and saw Lopez many years ago, when he was just a kid starting out. I knew his original trainer, who died in 2004, i think it was. At one point, I think I may have had kids that sparred with him, though I'm not sure about that. I last saw him fight in 2007, when I sat in the second row when he won by 5th round stoppage.
An interesting fight for him would be with Bradley. They both fought many fights at the DoubleTree Hotel, in Ontario (California), for Thompson promotions, and may have even been on the same cards. Bradley came up from 140, while Lopez started at 135.
