Both had comebacks scheduled on Friday night against...what we'll politely call "non-marquee names". Does anybody know anything?
Didn't know about Castillo but I was wondering what became of Johnson. No update on boxrec. I didn't actually look on boxrec but I have an old war injury that twinges when boxrec is updated about something I'm interested in.
No idea, but Bert Cooper was also fighting on Johnson's card. Let's hope he's still alive. There's quite a few comebacks happening next week too. Juan Carlos Gomez, Kirk Johnson and Zahir Raheem are all making comebacks.
Bert Cooper! Are you ****ing kidding me? Gomez has already fought twice since Vitali though. I saw one of them. It was sad. And fat.
I hope the Castillo fight didn't.. didn't he announce his retirement last fight? He was fighting in molasses last time out. The very definition of a shot fighter.
Well, you heard about Tapia, right? And Vargas? Usually when somebody who shouldn't be in the ring keeps climbing in, there aren't good (or altogether surprising) reasons behind it. :-(
Castillo still has to pay Corrales's widow and he has like 10 kids to support or some ****. He can't quit.
The hell with Kevin Johnson. The guy is disgrace and a clown. He embarrassed himself and American boxing fans in a foreign country. Inexcusable. The few times his lazy ass decided to throw a jab, he visibly had an effect on Vitali's face. But he was to damn incompetent to follow up. Perhaps he could have made it into a interesting fight if he fought back but he didn't. You don't travel six thousand miles to lay on the ropes. I don't give a **** about this bum.
So, I guess Castillo won... http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/castillo-victorious-in-return-50478 As for Johnson...:conf I will try calling the venue tomorrow.
