Castillo would stop "No Mo" Freitas although he wasn't the same fighter at 135 that he was at 130. With that said if Diaz and Chico could make him quit JLC would have made him quit boxing.
Popo had some mad skills. I guess after rethinking it a slight edge to Castillo who on his best day was really an elite fighter. but seriously i would have the odds ****ing close. almost 50/50
B+ is the rating i would give him in his prime as well. but what i'm saying is that on his best day Castillo can put out that A level performance. And give a run for his money to even the best of fighters
I got him over Freitas, easy. Freitas can't handle a good pressure fighter and is always going to be chinny, not to mention a natural superfeather. But truly the best fighters? Nah. Style advantage over Floyd, that's it, Floyd extremely weak to technical pressure fighters. Shane Mosely, another example, would have TKO'd him with ease at 135.
How wrong you are. Castillo doesn't only have his fights against Floyd. Even Mosley would have been in for a tough night against Castillo at 135.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of Castillo fights. Mosely would have massacred Castillo at LW, how the hell does Castillo do anything to him? Mosely's basically made out of steel in terms of punch resistence and couple that his blazing handspeed and timing, the slow, methodical Castillo is going to be brutalised. Castillo has a horrible defence.
Castillo is also made of steel in terms of punch resistence and he's relentless and can stay on that ass and cut the ring off and packs a good punch like Mosley has never seen at LW. Mosley would've MASSACRED Castillo? No. Go watch some more fights. Mosley was great at LW but answer me this: Who is the best opponent Mosley faced at LW? Mosley would've won the fight in a close, competitive bout.
Since both are shot, they should think about getting on anyway. Oh I forgot Castillo can't make weight.
I agree with this Mosley probably would have won but he doesn't blow out JLC at 135. JLC is probably one of the best pressure fighters of this era and somewhat underrated by many here. He's a tough body puncher with underrated boxing skills who would have given Mosley hell if they had ever fought.
Mosley at lightweight was simply a beast with power and speed, but knowing a prime JLC i'll give it a shot 60/40 in favor of mosley. JLC vs. popo- JLC takes this one easily:good
