Castillo was KOed twice by Javier Juaregui. Freitas KOed Juaregui in the first round. I'd pick Freitas by KO at 130 and Castillo by decision or late TKO at 135.
Frazier beat Ali Ali beat Foreman That's it. Frazier totally crushes Foreman because he beat the guy Foreman couldn't. I stand by this prediction since there is no other way of explaining it better than this.
Don't you all think that Acelino Freitas' overall skills would have bothered Jose Luis Castillo? I'm talking about a prime Acelino here that was fast, powerful, agile, and athletic. I'm not taking any fighter's side here, I just was wondering if everyone forgot how gifted athletically Freitas was.
I don't imagine they would have bothered him any more/less than Johnston's or Mayweather's overall skills did.
Castillo would chase Popo out of the ring. No contest in terms of heart, tenacity, toughness, etc.,...Castillo was a real live warrior, and Popo was, well, he wasn't, that's all.
Castillo, no doubt in my mind. Castillo is exactly the kind of fighter Freitis would hate, he is tough, relentless and gets better as the fight goes on. Popo loved fighters who fold, or are intimidated by his speed and power which there is no way Castillo would be. I think Castillo would just break him down. Contrary what someone said before Castillo does not have "horrible" defence, his tight guard and great sense of distance is what nearly saw him beat the best fighter in the world,( arguably beat). I dont know about the Juaregui comparison, at least one of those fights was stopped on a cut when Castillo was 21-22 against a more experienced foe. It was 5 years later when Javier was iced by Freitis.
Hand speed & body punching vs body punching. Mosley was just about the complete package at light and I think he would have been just as bad arse at 140. Though he was a bit small for welter, it was the right choice for him the make.
