That probably wasnt the best version of Ramirez...Id say he was better against Rosario a few years earlier.

Either way I think he knocks out Castillo in around the 8-10th...Would be a very entertaining fight while it lasted but Ramirez had one of the best chins you will see in his prime and had a significant power edge over Castillo aswell..JLC was a little more polished, a little better defensively but not enough to deal with the arsenal that Ramirez brought.
I dont think southpaws were Castillo's favourite either but that would certainly be less of an issue in this fight then the other things.

Either Ramirez stops Castillo late, or Castillo takes the decision based on his superior in-fighting ability.

Over 15 I'd bet on Ramirez stopping Castillo, for 12 rounds though I could see Castillo lasting, surviving a few rocky moments late, and having done enough to take the close decision.

Would have been an excellent fight either way.

based on how he lasted through the punishment he took from pernell i dont see castillo knocking out ramirez, but i think castillo was slightly more skilled enough to eak out a decision.

Great thread. After due consideration, I think Ramirez would stop Castillo around the 10th after a storming battle.

yea, the way he dug deep and fought through rosario's firepower to get the KO was pretty great.
