Marquez is the better fighter, but JLC is very underrated, especially next to the great Mexican 3 of his generation.
Marquez has his moments due to his immense skill, but Castillo imposes himself physically and lands the heavier shots, Marquez goes down once but gets back up and into the fight, Castillo pounds out a close UD/MD.

Prime Castillo would win. People are underrating him at lightweight. There is a reason when him and Corrales were the kings post Floyd the other guys did not go past 130. Watch Casamayor/Marquez.

Umm, JLC might well win, but I severely doubt it woukld be because of size. JMM was an enormous SFW who became a very big LW.

He was weighing in the 140's on fight night even when he was at SFW.

Castillo would've been a little too much for Marquez at lightweight. He would've carried him too fast. Castillo was a brillient pressure fighter, who was a lot stronger. Castillo decision in a close fight. I could see Marquez getting dropped a couple of times on the way.

Marquez is the greater fighter historically, but Castillo would beat him.

Castillo has fought some good boxers/counterpunchers and never got dominated or looked bad. And he had a great left hook which is both Marquez brothers weakness.
