This Fight ALMOST got made a few years back, when Cotto was a 140 pounder, & Castillo was beasting @135. If it had been made @ 140, who.wins????

    THINGS TO CONSIDER

Castillo had a IRON CHIN, & was a Good All Around Boxer, a BIG Lightweight

Cotto is the naturally bigger man, but was hurt often @140, vulnerable

Castillo would probably drop and hurt Cotto but I think Cotto could eek out a competitive decision by using his jab and using his size on the inside.

    Castillo.

I can't remember anyone of note that Cotto beat at 140. His chin was shaky and it may be attributed to him drying out so much just to make 140. Besides, I have never thought of Cotto being a great fighter. He was a good to very good fighter, but again, I don't remember him beating anyone at their absolute physical prime, or at the very least, close to it.

Cotto is too big and would have won easily by mid round knockout. Cotto is a guy if he fought guys smaller than him he would have been a wrecking machine. He was fast and hit hard, but the guys he fought many were too big.

Castillo can go a whole fight. Plus he would be in that body and his pace was more better than Cotto's. Cotto would be on his bike by round 6.

I'll take Cotto. At 140, his punches would hurt Castillo and Cotto was a vicious body puncher back then. After a few rounds, that body work would take the air out of Castillo and Cotto gets a TKO.

A prime cotto would comfortably beat Castillo. The version of Cotto most people are thinking of when choosing the winner is post Margarito which is not right at all.

Castillo would've hurt Cotto, but I see Cotto coming out on top

Literally watched Castillo-Corrales 1 and then saw this comment. :patsch
In terms of greatness, Castillo is clearly greater.
Miguel would stalk Castillo down however and eventually get the stoppage IMHumbleO

At 140 a 50/50 fight.....would be a good good scrap...im taken Castillo. I think he would be craftier than Cotto and i think his beard would hold up a lot better.

Also at 140...Cotto had stamina issues still.

As an even fight. Would go with Castillo. The pressue would be a problem for Cotto. Can look at it as being similar to the Margo fight, but without the illegal ****.

Castillo has Cotto doing his imitation of a smooth boxer by the 6th. A body shot has him taking a knee in the 9th. Low blows from Cotto in the 10th and 11th. Additional knockdown from Castillo in the 12th and UD Castillo win.
